Here is something that they just won’t say either. Naive Americans think getting shot is like shown in the movies. A person is shot and they fly backwards 5’ or more. Not even close.
In fact, in the Life or Death rush of adrenaline, usually a person doesn’t even immediately realize they have been shot and can continue at or near full strength depending on the severity of damaged appendages. The brain shot tends to turn the lights out quickly, however.
Yes, the scene in “The Godfather” where little Vito Andolini’s (Corleone) Mother is shot with a shotgun is a good example.
It was good drama but bad physics. If the blast really would have blown her back six feet, it would have done the same to the shooter or at least close to the same as he was probably heavier.
Apparently sometimes they don’t know they are shot even without the great adrenaline rush. I knew someone back in 1971 who told me about being in a poker game in a bar somewhere in the boondocks of Louisiana when the guy sitting directly across the table from him started talking trash and then fired three shots under the table with a .38 revolver. This guy said he told the other fellow to stop shooting in the floor and the reply came back, “I didn’t shoot in the floor, I shot you.” He said he replied, “Bullshit” and got up to walk to the bar for a drink. He said that he collapsed on the floor in front of the bar and woke up in the emergency room or ICU, I’m not sure which. He said he did not feel anything at all when he was shot and he was hit in the belly with all three.
That is so true. When full of adrenaline a person is much stronger and can keep going even when shot.
All these “experts” from the safety of behind their computers say the officer should not have fired and that he is racist etc.
I just wish they could have their eye socket fractured and have a 6'5” 300 pound thug charging at them.
I would just like to see what they would do.
