We need an alacarte system NOW! I quit cable because I was paying a small fortune and never watched the vast majority of the channels I was forced to subscribe to. I want one channel out of a “pack” so I have to take 20 I’ll never spend one second watching. No thanks.

No, we don't. Buy an HD antennae and get your local stations, and buy an Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, or Roku streaming service. If you still need cable, just get the basic package with local channels only.
