As a side note to this thread please consider the following.
Regarding Sen. Cruz’s statement, I question if state lawmakers hadn’t given up the voice of the state legislatures in Congress by foolishly ratifying the ill-conceived 17th Amendment, if Obama would have been impeached out of office by now.
Maybe, OTOH maybe states’ business interests would have forced through an amnesty long ago.
Hard to say.
