Topic A: Cuba normalization. This is what the FRIGGIN OP was about you moron.
Topic B: Immigration. Valid topic, crucial topic, but NOT THE SAME TOPIC

Geez, what’s it like having sub 70 IQ?

How many moments in the past 20 years have you spent agonizing over the plight of the Cuban people? I mean give me a break. I’ll bet never or seldom.

Save a few tears for the Chinese, Russian, Venezuelan, Afghan, Saudi, etc etc people who’s repressive governments we have diplomatic relations with.

Flooding Cuba with American goods and services as well as sending Trump down there to build a new hotel and casino will be good for the Cuban people and it will haste the demise of the current regime.

In a couple of years you and the Mrs will be heading down to enjoy a few fun days in the sun and drink some Mojitos.

Castro will never allow those things to happen, he just wants Uncle Sam to send him a check.

The Castros are old men. They will be dead soon. We need to position ourselves to help the Cuban Spring arrive.

Rand Paul supports communism in Cuba. Mass murder, enslavement of millions. I guess he hopes to get some cigars from Fidel Castro.

Actually, I worried about it for a living.

Before you spout off maybe you should learn a little bit of history.

Whats that got to do with normalizing relations with Cuba?

Nada.

Cuba is a small island in the Carribean that you fly over to get to Jamaica. Its 90 miles from US shores and as such needs to be brought into the sphere of our influence. That means an Embassy and turning all the corrupt crony capitalist US robber barons loose on Cuba. These are the guys who have bought and paid for the US Congress. The Castro brothers won’t know what hit them.

Once everybody in Cuba has an Ipod, a pair of Air Jordans and some rap music you can kiss the totalitarian thing goodbye pretty quick.

Nice pair of rose colored glasses you got the. Obama will try but it's not likely to happen. His only goal is to shut down Gitmo and kiss the lefts ass (I guess that includes you) by trying to save the Castro brothers. As Limbaugh would say, I hope he fails. Trade sanctions must be lifted by Congress, not likely to happen anytime soon, BTW.

It is amusing that Rand Paul accuses Rubio of the very faults that he, himself has exhibited in the past two years.

Rubio has the more reasoned argument on this matter. Each time I've seen him since our dicktator-in-chief issued his decree, he has looked as if someone just knocked the wind out of him. I can see the pain in his face because he can relate to the pain of his parents' generation and all the generations since Castro took Cuba.

Two of my family doctors were Cuban. I remember how profoundly relieved and grateful they were that they'd managed to escape the Castro regime and were able to become U.S. citizens. I don't know the details of their experiences. I only know that for them it was like going from a dungeon to a mountaintop. With their stories in mind, I cried my eyes out when Clinton/Reno kidnapped Elián González and returned him to Cuba, especially in light of the fact that his mother had given her life in her attempt to attain liberty for her and her son.

According to several pundits I've heard over the past few days, the younger Americans of Cuban descent are not at all passionate about the plight of the current Cuban citizens and lean toward Zero's decision to normalize relations with the Castro thug brothers. Color me surprised that millennials wouldn't have the capacity to care about the plight of others -- even their own ancestors.

BTW, when I heard Ron* Rand Paul accuse Rubio of isolationism, I had to hold onto my chair to keep from falling out. Does the irony get any richer? Rand is trying to widen his appeal for a presidential run. He doesn't have that much concern for the events that will actually ensue as a result of Obambi's latest foreign policy move. He just wants to use the occasion to appeal to millennials and fence sitters (a.k.a. "independents") when he throws his hat into the 2016 ring.

*I often get them mixed up. Do you suppose that's because, in many ways, they're interchangeable?

the main goal of the Paul Bot nation - and their two fearless leaders - is to be different, to pick every little fight with other Republicans at every opportunity.

p.s. It sounds just like John "Maverick" McQueeg too ... a cynical loser proposition....and intellectually bankrupt.

Great minds you know....that McCain analogy has crossed my mind on Rand Paul recently as well.

There is a lot there....

Senator Marco Rubio was captain of the GOP cheerleading team for Obama’s arming of Syrian rebels, bombing Libya resulting in a jihadist wonderland, and illegally giving foreign aid to Egypt’s military government. The Rubio-Obama foreign policy has made the Middle East and North Africa less safe.

Common sense tells me, we should try something different after 50 years. Castro gag is still in power, and Cubans are no better off. Keep doing the same thing for 50 years and expecting a different result is classic definition of insanity.

Is the dictatorship in China or Vietnam any more benevolent than Cuba. I spent a few days in Vietnam earlier this year. It looked like a police state to me. Armed military presence was very visible.

One line responses without substance is a sign of shallow thoughts, and inability to post anything meaningful.

Neither Soviet Union, China or Vietnam tried to obliterate New York and Washington by a nuclear attack.

Who do you think was going to be sending bombs to Cuba?

I’m neither a Paulanista nor a Rubio Rube. Just saying, Cuba has never had the heft/ability of the USSR or Communist China to inflict pain on the U.S. or any other country.

I think after 50 years...let’s change up what we’re doing w/ regards to our Cuba policy. I believe more freedom for Cubans will come w/ an improved economy and access to information (via internet, etc).
