(CNN)Charlie Hebdo, the French magazine where gunmen killed journalists and police in a brazen attack Wednesday, is no stranger to controversy. The Paris-based weekly satirical magazine became famous for its daring takedowns of politicians, public figures and religious symbols.

That cartoon is now literally true. The savages killed free speech. And the reaction of the feckless Western journalists, who pat each other on the back for how brave they are for going after Christians and US conservatives, will be to redouble their efforts to kiss these terrorists’ asses.

Yet such stuff find its way, the cartoons, to the online in a hurry.

On 9/11 I had a friend living on a base in Germany. She could not leave the base to pick up her kids at school, and told me that there were Muslims rioting at the gates of the base.

Maybe Germans are turning it around.
