Scott Walker Not Done Collecting Skulls for his Throne

After winning two bruising electoral battles in the last 3 years, and making structural changes to Wisconsin’s budget with Act 10, you might be forgiven for thinking that Scott Walker would likely rest on his laurels as he prepares for an anticipated 2016 campaign. You would be wrong. Walker has released his proposed Wisconsin budget for this year and it is loaded with cuts to liberal sacred cows across the board. Walker’s proposed cuts have once again mobilized the unions against him for planned protests over the weekend. Walker is yet again showing that where others might prefer the easy road, he almost relishes the opportunity to test his battle mettle.

First of all, Walker has proposed $300 million in cuts to the University of Wisconsin system. Predictably, this has sparked a planned round of protests from university professors – as a class, the most liberal and among the most unproductive members of society – who are provoking their students to join. As if you needed any confirmation of the character or the participants in this process, the organizers are a veritable who’s who of Democrat politics:

snip

Not content with provoking liberal university professors, Walker’s budget also goes after the Secretary of State’s office, headed by Doug La Folette. La Folette, you may recall, is one of the Democrat gadflies who ran against Walker in the 2012 recall election.

Whether Walker runs for president or not, he’s doing a hell of a job as governor!

I certainly hope Walker keeps the heat on entrenched liberal destruction of this country, in his state and everywhere he can.

I don’t have anything against him except his unclear stance on illegals and what he as President might do. I HOPE he’ll see the light and come into alignment with conservatives in this country on this.

Liberals love university jobs because they can often be paid for teaching as few as one class three times a week.

I love the sound of liberal university professors whining about how hard Walker is making it for them.

Walker must really make the flaming liberals nervous, seeing as how they’re already coming out with the long knives.

Hey Gov. Walker, keep rattling their cages.

Others:

- Going after tenure: “...the state law creating shared governance and tenure at the University of Wisconsin would be wiped out if Walker’s plan is approved by the Legislature.”

- Going FOR vouchers: “...his plan for K-12 education to increase vouchers and charter schools...”

- Smaller government: “...Walker’s budget proposes to cut the Secretary of State’s office in half.”

- Hitting the liberal media: “...Walker is also proposing $2.5 million in cuts to Wisconsin’s state equivalent of PBS/NPR...”

Walker is hitting the sacred cows of liberalism to help balance the Wisconsin budget. He is the most effective politician in office right now.

I really don’t think you need to worry all that much about Walker’s stance on illegal immigrant if he continues to adhere to his philosophy of trimming the size of govt and govt cutting spending, and encourage economic growth. Allowing massive illegals to come into this country is not consistent with these goals at all.

Walker has released his proposed Wisconsin budget for this year and it is loaded with cuts to liberal sacred cows across the board.

That's the only way to do it. Most Republicans (especially in the Senate) propose one sensible reform, endure the usual withering criticism, then settle for much less than they asked for as a 'compromise." You have to throw so much stuff at them they can't effectively deal with it all.

I see lot of Freepers attacking Walker for his immigration stance which at worst seems a little wishy washy. But nobody has shown me an example of a liberal policy that he has implemented. On the contrary, he has implemented and signed into law many conservative big government slashing and union busting policies. This guy is the ANTICHRIST to liberals!!!

I love Ted Cruz even more, but Walker has already walked the walk and been very successful under the most horrible attacks from liberals.

You can compare him to every single candidate from 2012 including Gingrich and he is by far the most conservative. I hope Freepers are a little less critical of the candidates this time around, save that crap for the real RINOS.

That’s saying the bare minimum, but at least it’s on the right track. It’s early, and I’m willing to see how the issue unfolds with him. He’s done an outstanding job as a governor, and has the potential to be a serious electoral problem for the Democrats. Wisconsin possibly going red in 2016 would leave them no margin for error.

Especially since many are repeating the misquotes by the Wausau newspaper that have been presented as factual by the left.
