The latest row erupted this week as UN envoy Bernardino Leon, who is mediating between Libya's warring factions, warned the country was heading towards destruction unless a political deal is found.

It also comes as the jihadist Islamic State group, which has made huge profits from illegal oil sales in Syria and Iraq where it has seized chunks of territory, has gained a foothold in Libya.

Just to make sure I remember things correctly we bombed the former government out of office because the UN told NATO to end the civil war because it was hurting the oil supply to Europe.

After that the country devolved into anarchy with thousands of recruits joining the Islamists and tons of weapons falling into their hands. The US ambassador and several others were murdered during this process.

Since then the oil has slowed to a trickle as no one know who controls what from day to day and it’s gotten so bad the nut jobs in Egypt have had to step in at times to assist because the country that elected the Muslim Brotherhood is more sane than Libya.

So this is all front page news, right?

“Widespread protests.” Interesting way to say the country has effectively split into two halves with various tribal factions fighting for the scraps in each section. Libya is a failed state on the magnitude of Somalia except with a much more compelling reason for outside meddling.

Let’s remember that all the misery in Libya is due to the Clinton/Obama foreign policy. They’ve killed more Libyans than Qadaffy.
