When one man sat down next to a second man in a St. Louis light rail car and asked him his opinion on the shooting of Michael Brown, it was not the beginning of a discussion.
It was the start of an assault, police said.
The second man, who was white, didn't want to answer the question. Then the first man, who was black, boxed him in the face. Two more African-American men joined in the beating, according to a police report about Monday's incident.
It was caught on surveillance cameras on the MetroLink train and a passenger recorded it with a cell phone and posted the video online. It has gone viral.
Police confirmed to CNN that the online images came from the attack.

My thoughts exactly. Let’s talk about race. This thug was taking that hairbrained scheme Starschmucks came up with to a whole new level.

There is a kind of weird reasoning employed by defenders of black criminals. One ruse they employ is to, of course, deny that black crime is more frequent than white crime. They still fool many people with this lie. The "blacks are in prison only because of drug possession where whites get off" ploy is frequently used by the excusers.
The facts show that most blacks in prison (like whites and Hispanics) deserve to be there. They're not there because they were found with drugs on them. They're there because drugs were found on them as they were committing serious crimes, most of them violent crimes.
A study proved that blacks are far more likely to lie about their drug use than other groups. How did the researchers come to this conclusion? They simply asked the people in the study whether they used drugs or not. Then they took blood samples. Blacks were about five or six times more likely to lie about using drugs than other groups.
Their second ruse is to admit black crime is high, but it's only because black males are internalizing all the hatred directed at them by a racist, white society forcing them, the black males, to "act out."
I'm both amused and irritated by the phrase "acting out" as if these thugs are just actors in some sort or weird play.
King Barack could have done a lot to change the course of the dialogue. He could have said all those things.
But we know, of course, that Dear Leader had no intention of doing something positive like that. He most certainly, like all the other race vultures, believes white racism still holds blacks back. A scoundrel like Sharpton as his advisor on race relations, leaves no doubt about his beliefs.
For the benefit of all who have never been exposed to ghetto thugs, this is a typical set up for a robbery or violent assault-- there was no intention to even listen to the answer. It usually starts with asking for a cigarette, money, directions, time, or, as in this case to use his phone. If they smell fear, or believe the risk is worth it, they will move on to step two. Here the victim could not get to his feet in time, and was boxed in so he could not create space-- bad situation to be in. The question was designed to distract him for a moment before he was sucker punched.
This reminds me of the Starbucks story, wanting his counter people to engage customers in “conversations” about race before handing them a cup of hot liquid. What could possibly go wrong?

Very good information. A comete stranger asks me what time it is, one hand instinctively feels for my wallet and I start looking for his accomplice. If you are middle class and middle aged....the ‘yout’ view their relationship with you akin to a lion and a wildabeast. I can’t believe anyone would entertain for a minute that this really was a ‘conversatiin gone awry’.....it was predatory behaviour, plain and simple.
It is worse than that. Blacks are 12% of the population but the crimes are predominantly committed by black men between the ages of 15 and 25. So essentially 3% of the population is responsible for half the violent felonies.
Given this knowledge, if I were a young black man, I would act and dress as to set myself apart from what is a statistically criminal population. Alas it has been my experience that even successful young blacks feel the need to dress and speak in a way similar to the hoodlums.
In Washington, snickering.
Add to that, reach for your concealed piece and prepare to fire.
