Republicans in 2016: Rubio Edges Ahead of Walker
Sabato's Crystal Ball, University of Virginia Center for Politics ^ | 4/30/2015 | Larry J. Sabato, Kyle Kondik and Geoffrey Skelley

For Republicans looking ahead to 2016, Florida is the pivotal state in the Electoral College. Naturally, we can’t know exactly what will happen a year and a half from now, but from our current vantage point, it appears very likely that the GOP must win the state to have a shot at winning 270 or more electoral votes and control of the White House.

Given the state’s importance, particularly to the Republicans, it seems appropriate that the top two contenders for the party’s presidential nomination in the Crystal Ball’s rankings now hail from the Sunshine State.

Moving into the number two spot on our GOP list is Florida Sen. Marco Rubio. The state’s junior senator has enjoyed a solid couple of weeks since announcing his candidacy on April 13, and his new position in our candidate list reflects that. He jumps ahead of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, while ex-Florida Gov. Jeb Bush remains at the top, though it’s important to stress just how tenuous Bush’s slotting remains at this very early point. This trio (Bush, Rubio, Walker) continues to make up our first tier, and they are tightly bunched together.

New survey data reflect Rubio’s improved stature. Prior to his announcement, Rubio had last seen double digits in national GOP primary polling in February 2014. Based on RealClearPolitics’ list of polls, Rubio’s average in the nine 2015 polls taken before April 13 was 5.9%. In the three surveys since his official entry, Rubio averaged 13% and held a (slim) lead in two of them. It’s true that Texas Sen. Ted Cruz got a similar poll bounce after his entry in late March, which seems to have receded somewhat, so it’s entirely possible that Rubio is just the latest benefactor of an announcement bounce.

Any article or “poll” which makes Rubio “win” is rigged-—as all MSM media—it is all for the proper “perspective” of the masses—the useful idiots, so they vote correctly..

He is the anointed— Jeb Bush equivalent....only more subtle and easier for people to stomach. He looks good. But he will be the willing puppet, exactly like obama is now, who will continue the destruction of this Republic so the masses and their children will have no ability whatsoever to “think” like our Founders. They will be the “happy slaves” which the Progressives designed the Prussian system of “education” to produce. (Fichte 1810).

They will have minds shaped just like the harem boys in Afghanistan today. No profound “thinking” will be possible. Virtue will be destroyed.

We really have to destroy the Dept. of Education and return all our Natural Rights from God so we shape the minds and emotions of our OWN children. We need to shape our children, through the Natural Family interactions, and NOT in artificial institutions which trap and indoctrinate and warp children-—create dependent collectivist “group thinkers” who can’t understand Reality (Truth/God/Natural Law—(Founding principles)..

Common Sense is what is missing in people which only comes from embedded emotions watching loving and working family interactions in early childhood.....not in some “day care”institution where puerile language and actions are embedded and bonding to parents is severely weakened causing trust and self-esteem issues-—( Day Care is Lenin’s construct to destroy the family) Education should be the parent’s responsibility-—where reflection and self-directedness and “thinking outside the box” can actually occur. The mind of Lincoln or the Founders is hardly possible in today’s dehumanized world where everyone interacts with machines and children sit and watch a screen or press buttons which shuts down the interaction of the two sides of the brain to destroy natural brain formation. Waldorf schools make you sign an agreement that NO TV and NO computers until after age 12 for a REASON. God’s Design to attain knowledge comes from using all the senses in the Natural world. It is essential for mapping of the brain and retrieving information and correct emotional development.

We need to start with our children and grandchildren and go from there. Education is what created the Republic and their intellectual excellence. Without Right Reason and Virtue, there can be no Freedom/Republic. Watch the Supreme Court create irrational “Just Law”-—LOL to FORCE those irrational, unnatural ideas into ALL little children to severely warp their perceptions. Maybe the Amish will be able to survive such an evil irrational concept, like “homosexual” marriage.

Every thing the Leftists do is for “perceptions” of the masses so they control emotions (create fear and mistrust) which destroys Reason. Ray Bradbury stated that fact long ago.

BTW, considering the magnitude of Hillary’s baggage, I think poor Rubio’s house baggage and credit card snafu dissolves in the camp fire. LOL! How can anyone ride that toy horse after Hillary?

I guess you’re thinking other R contenders might use these questions against him, huh?

Yeah, they can’t run on the same ticket, I don’t think.

The important thing to the RNC is to prevent us from electing anyone who would stop the invasion/cheap labor importation/colonization.

Not sure how the money transfer happens...I’d assume the money is just to get someone in place who will do what the donor wants done, so presumably they don’t care who the Establishment candidate is as long as that candidate is gonna win...but that’s just a guess..

I suppose we wait to see how the states or regions shake out before the nominee picks a VP, to see where and what the need will be before making that pick.

Thanks. Interesting.

Oh, I see. Well, if conservatives get their lace too tight against Rubio’s small ball, they may net themselves the global glutton out there, instead. ;) Thx.

I like Cruz, Walker, Paul, and Rubio, in that order.

I’d say I am Walker, Cruz, Santorum, Rubio. Nobody else. I am not impressed with Paul at all. Thankfully I won’t have to hold my nose for him.

I hope you don’t have someone worse than Paul to hold your nose for! LOL. Speaking of Bush and Cristi, of course.

Oh well of course but I don’t take either one seriously and hardly ever remember they are interested in running.

The polls won’t matter for a year;

****************

By May 1, 2016 we’ll pretty well know the nominee.

Debates begin this Aug and some 30 or so caucuses or primaries scheduled before May 1, 2016.

I’m sorry. LOL! It’s not YOU. I’ve been getting a lot of that lately! \\)

The “global glutton” $$$$$ is Hillary, of course.
Rubio’s little scandals are the “small ball”.

I think we are on the same page, too. lol. Rita

I am guessing Jeb won’t run and with then shift his pac money to Rubio along with a big endorsement. The last two cycles allowed Florida to decide our nominee. They are setting up another Romney like overwhelming campaign to win Florida and knock top rivals off.

I don’t dislike Rubio the way many here do. I think he beings a lot to the table, immigration withstanding. I just don’t see a winner there. He is not ready. His ambition is outpacing his readiness. Cruz and Walker both have a richer set of experience. All three have shown campaign success. All three have been conservative champions on various issues. We shall see.

That’s how I see it going down too. I don’t see a winner in Rubio either. Although I think the Establishment can definitely turn a bunch of GOP voters on to him eventually. And just as with Jeb, if they can totally destroy Hillary, they might be able to turn some RAT voters on to Rubio too eventually.

personally I’m sticking with Ted Cruz because he’s the only one who is strong enough and has enough integrity to overcome whatever the Establishment will throw at him to try and take him out. They will just strengthen him and his support if they try to take him down. It’s hard to explain why I think this. Hopefully it’s not just wishful thinking. I just have a feeling that Cruz is exactly the kind of man the average American is looking for right now. Yes, maybe even some RAT LIVs will pick up on the truth and conviction and patriotism and love of country and righteousness (rightness?) he inspires.

Unless Walker, Cruz, or Paul is the nominee, I’m staying home. If an amnesty pushing POS like RINObio or Jeb! gets the nomination, I may vote Hillary to teach the GOP a lesson.
