PBS revealed yesterday that it would be postponing the third season of Finding Your Roots after it was discovered that producers succumbed to pressure from Ben Affleck last year to leave out details of his slave-owning ancestors. According to emails released in the Sony hack by WikiLeaks, Affleck urged producers and host Henry Louis Gates not to include these relatives in his episode of the show, which traces back the ancestry of celebrities.
While Mr. Gates claimed, after WikiLeaks, that these ancestors were only left out to make room to include more interesting onesa Revolutionary War soldier and a mysticmost are skeptical that this is the case. It seems PBS agrees, and the network is mandating a change of staff, including the hiring of a fact checker, before it airs the third season. In an announcement, the network admitted that producers allowed Affleck to have improper influence over content.
PBS, of course, should be applauded for its decision. On a show that prides itself on revealing the truth, this maneuver seemed like nothing short of obscuring it. The editors and producers, Gates included, allowed Affleck to hide shameful details of his ancestry.
But while praise is needed and criticism has been rightfully doled out to Gates and the shows staff, Affleck should also be called out. In trying to protect himself he admitted the request for censorship, saying on his Facebook page in April that I didnt want any television show about my family to include a guy who owned slaves. I was embarrassed. The very thought left a bad taste in my mouthAffleck selfishly lost an opportunity. . .

Too bad the truth outed their version of the "narrative" ... glad to see there are some consequences, at least for getting caught.
If they had any real courage they would question why they chose Affleck as a subject in the first place.
Get a bottle of Obama piss and gargle real good, it is guaranteed to relieve/remove your guilt.
Forbes has gone way way left
In his flicks, Affleck comes across as a rugged guy, a man’s man.
Who knew that, in real life, he’s an over-sensitive girlie man.
OH MY GOD!!! History is history. You can not chose your parents. I don’t really care anything about Ben Afleck. But for crying out loud. His history is America’s history. I, for one, refuse to hold any shame for my history. Not that there’s much to feel bad about. One half of the family fled the Russian invasion of Poland in the 1910s. The Scottish side fled the famines from the 18th century. They all ended up in America and here I am. I am PROUD to be born from the struggles of the ‘old country’ in to the blessings of America. I am so sick of this collective guilt libs expect we white Americans to feel.
B-fleck should own up to his history and proclaim his pride in being born an American. Regardless if his family owned slaves he was blessed to be born in this country.
So now the “sins” or just actions of a great great great grandfather are now put on the living today? We really have slid down into the ugly cesspool of political correctness.
It’s about white shaming.
White devils were born with “original sin” unlike any other, the black supremacist “5 percent nation” muslims say so.
Our president pals around with 5 Percent Nation members. Coca Cola hires them as spokesmen.
This noise about a flag is merely a “squirrel” and distraction from what the government (Obama, Hillary, SCOTUS, et al) is doing.

Obama and his two daughters: I dare Harvard Professor Gates--- a good friend of Obama---to convince Obama and his two daughters to submit to DNA tests on the good professor's PBS show, like he convinced Affleck and other celebrities to appear on the show.
I believe Professor Gates is too scared to invite Obama on the show for DNA tests, because he is scared that he will find out that Obama's father is not from Kenya and that his mother was not a white woman from Kansas.
