Weve got to teach history based not on whats in fashion but whats important why the Pilgrims came here, who Jimmy Doolittle was, and what those 30 seconds over Tokyo meant. If we forget what we did, we wont know who we are. . . . Im warning of an eradication of the American memory that could result, ultimately, in an erosion of the American spirit. Lets start with some basics: more attention to American history and a greater emphasis on civic ritual.

What on earth does the writer think was reflected in the faces of those coeds seen in the front rows of Obama rallies in 2008? Does the writer think those girls had an actual clue as to American history--American achievement?
Two generations of an educational system corrupted by those who believe that people are interchangeable; that all cultures are equal; that all individuals have equal potential, and that those who succeed do so by exploiting those who fail; has left much of the population both ignorant of history, and conditioned not to trust their own perceptions of actual reality.
This is one reason why I object to the United Nation’s sponsored baccalaureate program in our nation’s high schools.
They want our kids to study history from an international vantage point. Gone are the days when we study history from our world view. They want our kids to view the U. S. as others see us. Guess whether it’s positive or negative.
This eminates from U.N.E.S.C.O.
It’s not just a food program for children around the world after all.
This article needs to go on Facebook and all those social nets that libs love to believe in. Perhaps they will learn something. Ah, I guess I still have a bit of hope.
It’s already been erased, I think. What would be the result if we asked a sampling of people such questions as the significance of July 4th in history?
And how many young people today know about Doolittle’s raid on Tokyo???
There are lots of historic events which people don’t know about and which are not taught in school.
Slavery? What’s that? Never happened. See how easy that was? Now nobody has a reason to be pissed off. Kind of like a “reset”.
