Glenn Beck calls Donald Trump a false conservative
Iranian Press TV ^ | August 23, 2015

Conservative American talk show host Glenn Beck has slammed frontrunner Republican US presidential candidate Donald Trump, saying he is a false conservative.

Beck, a former member of the Republican Party, said in an interview on Saturday, “I haven’t heard him talk about the Constitution or small government.”

“It’s hard to say you espouse conservative principles and small-government principles when you are saying that you think [the] Canadian health care system works and is wonderful,” he added.

“I look for a man of integrity, humility, who is rooted in the Constitution,” Beck stated, “because if you root yourself in the Constitution, we can’t go too far left or too far right.”

Trump has maintained a lead among GOP presidential contenders in national polling since he announced his candidacy in mid-July.

A Rasmussen poll released Friday found that a majority of Republican voters (57 percent) believe Trump will be their party’s nominee for president in 2016. Among all likely voters, 49 percent believe Trump is likely to win the GOP nomination, up from 23 percent two months ago.

“He is not a politician,” Beck declared. “He is saying the populist things right now.”

“I think what’s happening with Bernie Sanders with the left is the same thing that’s happening with Donald Trump,” he opined, referring to the independent presidential candidate seeking Democratic nomination.

“They want somebody to say it the way they think it – especially if they say it in a non-politically correct way,” the former Fox News pundit asserted.

Earlier this year, Beck announced to quit the Republican Party, saying he has become disillusioned with the Republicans in recent years over their failure to stand up to the Obama administration over a number of issues.

“All this stuff that they said and they ran and they said they were doing all of these great things and they were going to stand against ObamaCare and illegal immigration — they set us up,” Beck stated.

He accused the Republicans of “torpedoing the Constitution” and said that “they’re doing it knowingly.”

The founder of the Blaze said that he decided to leave the Republican Party because of its resistance to change.

As many as 17 Republicans are seeking their party’s nomination for president but only Trump, Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Scott Walker are considered serious contenders.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is competing against only three Democrats and Bernie Sanders for the Democratic Party's nomination. Only Sanders is considered at all competitive in the early primaries.

I gave up on Glenn Beck years ago when he started going “batty” and started doing things that were certainly strange.

As far as I am concerned he is conservative “toast.”

I wonder if Trump converted to a certain sect would Glenn maybe change his mind?

Or maybe fessed up to some vice/addiction and wept like John Boehner once in a while....

I listen for about ten seconds to Beck a couple times per year. It’s the same. 90% commercials on buying gold and some ridiculous food that lasts 25 years...(hey, if heard of bottled water and canned food?)

Then when you get through the commercials, it’s two or three guys around the pork barrel talking and joking (to themselves). Kinda like the listener is eavesdropping on a couple of juveniles...

But, as few are the times I’ve listened to him, just each time over the past few months, the guy is bashing Trump, kinda like he did with Newt. No doubt there is virulent, seething hatred for the man.

Last week, the chump hit a new low, talking about Trump’s wife, insinuating that she made a porn movie.

In short, it’s clear the man is mentally ill, on a dry drunk, and has lost it. O’Reilly and Fox dumped the guy, I’m sure, when they saw the handwriting on the wall that the man is dangerous.

George Will and the others take the cake. BAshing Trump on his immigration ideas.

So all of a sudden, everyone, including that bonehead O’Reilly, are supporting the poor illegal here. Will is spewing data that shows these people own homes, are working, raising families. He forgets that Sessions help pencil the thing.

The idea is doable, if you do it at the local level. Each community sizes up the illegal population, and they go from there.

That's the radio show. I felt the same way at first, but I like listening to Glenn's radio show at work. I need a laugh in addition to listening to doom and gloom from other conservative talk.

Keep in mind that Glenn runs his own network, and he still does his serious, hour-long TV program on the Blaze.

Trump has done a lot of good, but if you listen to his teleprompter-free speeches, he's all over the map. He's less coherent than Glenn, IMO. He also spends a lot of his time insulting people.

So it seems to me like you have a double-standard.

Has Trump ever called himself a conservative? I’m thinking back and I can’t recall if he ever did but then again, I haven’t been listening to every word he speaks either.

Going through some of my saved e-mails I ran across this. Dated 7-2011.
.........

No one can sum it up better than Trump!
“Obama Care Explained”

Let me get this straight . . . ... We’re going to be “gifted” with a health care
plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don’t,

Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor,
but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents,

written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn’t understand it,

passed by a Congress that didn’t read it but exempted themselves from it,

and signed by a President who smokes,

with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn’t pay his taxes,

for which we’ll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect,

by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare,

all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that’s broke!!!!!

‘Is there something WRONG with this picture?’

Because, so far, Ted Cruz isn’t bringing in 30,000 people to a venue....
....and although a bit flawed, Trump really loves America, and I believe that.

Glenn Beck may have a radio and TV show, but he copulated with the canine.

Of course, would a good mormon NOT support one of their own running for President?

If Beck were as rabid for the U.S. Constitution, as he states, why has he NOT been screaming about the anchor baby problem, for as long as he has had a voice?

I agree that Beck was wrong to support Romney. I don’t think that means he is obligated to make the same mistake by supporting Trump.

Did Beck admit supporting Romney was a mistake?

I don’t know if Beck admitted supporting Romney was a mistake. Whether he did or not, he was wrong to support Liberal posing as a Conservative, Mitt Romney and he is right to oppose Liberal posing as a Conservative, Donald Trump.

Beck is free to say whatever he wants. Even contradict himself.
Likewise, attacking his wife, and the like, is going a little bit beyond opposing Trump?
