Trump can't actually win, can he?
Los Angeles Times ^ | September 6, 2015 | Doyle McManus

Posted on 09/06/2015 10:19:29 AM PDT by Biggirl

I talked with Republican wise men last week — sober establishment strategists who have seen many presidential campaigns come and go — to ask them how long the improbable popularity of Donald Trump can last. Reassure me, I said: He can't actually win, right? Their answers surprised me.

Exactly when is Trump leaving the race?

Looks like he is leading the race and not by a little. He will more than likely continue to do so.

I would love a Cruz nomination, bu the fact is that he is not in position to get the nomination. He is almost completely OUT of position to do so.

He will likely trail either Carson or Carly in the event that Trump leaves the race. The only person I know he will beat is Bush. As I see NO way to the nomination for him at this point. Too many GOP Establishment candidates in the ring for that. They have split the GOPe and Trump has coalesced a plurality that is likely not to be beat.

...”he may not be a conservative but he is a capitalist.”
BINGO.
He’s a galloping, unapologetic capitalist. A slap in the face to the simpering commies who want to turn the US into another Venezuela.
People are sick of seeing motivation and success being punished, while ignorance, sloth and failure are rewarded.
People are sick of being categorized in ethnic groups and forced to compete for Biggest Victim.

I overlooked it because it is irrelevant hogwash.

We will not see any candidate win who is espousing changing the social safety net, particularly the Social Security system. They will have to do those things AFTER they are elected and by force of will, not popular support.

The Democrats win every election by scaring the hell out of low information voters that the Republicans will stop Social Security checks, end Medicare and kill grandma. The last thing we need is to try to explain to the idiots why these programs must change PRIOR to getting elected.

Once elected, a forceful POTUS and Administration can ram any number of changes through. Particularly a popular second term Administration that has an economic boon to their advantage.

NO. We will not win by promising a Chilean retirement system and Medicare Privatization even though that is a great model. We will only win by promoting a highly popular program and today that is Immigration and tax reform.

Those successes in a first term allows for a second term. Look at what an unpopular Obama is doing in a second term. Imagine what a driven, popular seconfd termer could do.

What are all the other candidates specific details/plans regarding our declining country, our country killing violent lawless borders, this legal immigration free for all, punitive trade laws which are killing the middle class, our 18 trillion in debt, and their plans to dramatically downsize the federal government size, regulatory scope and control of everything?

Please tell to me exactly how the other candidates intend to achieve those goals. Thank you.

Why should I ? I’m not running

LOL! So there ya have it!

So you expect Trump will do that ram thru stuff..
I do too.. by executive order..

As I suspected.. Democrats do that.. ram thru stuff..
Force feed.. Congress.. by bending them over..

So you are NOT hoping for a sea change.?.
Which is what I want and a Justice Department that will punish current and PAST injustice..

WOuld require 2010 on steroids to do that... if we don’t get one of those....
America is lost never to recover except by revolution..
or you know.... CIVIL WAR II..

Which I am actually hoping for.. hopefully ALL the bravest didn’t die in WWII.. Korea or Vietnam.. Iraq or some other hell hole..
BUT alas; they probably did..

Depends on how stupid conservatives are...

Something alinsky would recommend saying.

Belittling someone for their opinion isn't a debate on the issues. It is merely an attack on the individual.

I certainly would hope that any elected Republican would take the reigns as they have been taught to do by Obama. First and foremost a complete rescission of EVERY executive order regardless of merit that Obama made. Even if it was benign or even a good one.

I also expect whomever wins the Presidency as a republican to damn well bend the Congress over and force them to do his bidding. The Presidency was built to wield enormous power. Only republicans refuse to do so. Their power exceeds that of 2/3’s of both houses of Congress. It is beyond time that a Republican use that power. Just lie Reagan who shut down the government several times to force his will.

There is no reason to expect the girly men of the Left to actually take up arms. They are eunuchs and homo's and a President, as we have seen, can do damn near anything he desires as long as they refuse to do anything about it.

We need a President who is not a coward and is not a go along to get along. A few decisions in the proper direction and a few uses f executive power to the good would solve many of our problems.

A simpler message: government needs to stop breaking its promises it makes to the American people.

The easiest promise to keep is to enforce the laws. You don’t have a government or a country if you don’t enforce the laws.

When the basis of your argument is “conservatives are stupid and easily misled,” it’s probably not going to get a lot of traction on a conservative forum.
