It's been several decades now. Ceased cigarettes the same day. If one is wanting to quit, best to just quit and stay quit. Started a new life that day and a new family shortly thereafter, from the ground up. Still an alcoholic and will be as long as in this body, I'm told.

Ever read The Great Santini, by Pat Conroy? I recommend almost any of his books to you, although they do get rough. Talk about damaging the family via alcohol!
