Donald Trump on Saturday responded to a question from CNN about whether Muslims pose a danger to the country, saying: "I love the Muslims. I think they're great people."
The Republican presidential front-runner made the comment after addressing high school students here at their homecoming Saturday night.
During a question-and-answer session with students, Trump was unable to avoid being asked about the latest political controversy dogging his campaign: his decision not to correct a supporter this week who called President Barack Obama a Muslim.
One student told Trump that she considered Muslim-Americans to be an important segment of the country. They asked whether the billionaire businessman would consider putting a Muslim in his Cabinet or on his ticket.
"Oh, absolutely," Trump responded. "No problem with that."

Did he say anything about loving their religion? No - he did not. He was answering a student’s question and here’s a news flash for you genius - God loves the Muslims too - that’s why he sent His son Jesus into the world to die for sinners - and that includes all - for ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. You are totally overreacting - not one person running for office is going to stand in front of a group of students, parents and cameras and say they hate Muslims. And, here’s another news flash for you - it isn’t only Christians and Jews who are being killed and beheaded in the Middle East - but other Muslims as well. I’m sure out of the hundreds of millions of people born Muslim, many are good people who just want to live ordinary lives. It’s not like they are allowed to leave, at least in Muslim countries. But nobody converts to Islam for good reasons.

Trump is a master at deflecting incoming torpedoes. Saying “he loves Muslims”, cuts the legs off his attackers. They can not attack him anymore regarding the “Obama is a Muslim” event at the town hall.

Sure he would hire a Muslim, assuming he/she is qualified for the job. It’s a high bar to be qualified though, so the person would have to check out in every way.
I grew up surrounded by Muslim families. My 2 best childhood friends were Muslims. Indonesia has more Muslims than any other country in the world. India has 200 million Muslims. But how many terrorists have originated in Indonesia or India?
The problem Muslims are all in the middle-east. Almost all radical Muslims are from Middle-East & Pakistan.
How about Donny just tell the truth about what Islam truly represents and who Muhammed was and what he stood for? And point out that anyone who has half a brain knows that Islam's endgame is a worldwide caliphate which is totally at odds with the US Constitution.
