There was a very lengthy and heated debate during the forming of the government over Catholics and public office holders. To which authority does the public official ultimately serve?

So let’s go over old ground again and dig into the history books to determine how this one ended up.

The funny thing is that a good Catholic should ultimately serve Christ the King.

How many non-Catholics, much less non-Christians, would feel comfortable with that?
