He owes no apology. Sharia law and the constitution are incompatible.
They asked his opinion. He gave it.
Dr. Carson does not have to apologize for this.
Notice it’s only OUTSIDE THE BELTWAY NON-ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLICANS who don’t back down.
Your pixie dust comment is funny. Clever.
I think all those outraged should be transported to Syria, Iraq or Iran and try living under Muslim rule.
These are hard questions. Cruz is right in saying there is no constitutional religious test for the presidency. At the same time, we’re talking about a religion that says IT should BE the government. ..and if successful, would abolish the government founded on...the Constitution.
That’s the thinking part. The reactive part: GO BEN!!!
“However, on several occasions Carson mentioned Taqiya, a practice in Shia Islam in which a Muslim can mislead nonbelievers about the nature of their faith to avoid persecution.”
Not right. Taqiya means Muslims can outright LIE to advance Islam.

Keep in mind the candidates doing this are the least "Republican" of the field.
These media types formulate questions precisely because they know what the Republican candidate thinks,
with the intention of creating a controversy and bringing the candidate down. The question is not random, and is not asked of democrats.
RE: I stil am struggling with the pretentious newscasters that changed the way Quatar
I hear them pronounced the country’s name sounding like “Cutter” all the time.
I stand with Ben.
Theocracy of any kind is inconsistent with the Constitution, whether Islamic or otherwise.
The problem in a modern context is that Islam seeks theocracy and sharia (there, did I spell it right?) IS theocracy.
So, back to the question, can one be a good Muslim and disavow sharia?
Gee..all the hell holes of the world seem to be MUZZIE...wonder why that IS???? Sheesh....THAT alone should be the reason we would not want a MUZZIE for Prezz
Good for him!
For those who want the answer to be yes, all they have to do is demonstrate that Sharia is compatible with the Constitution.
The Muslim group in the USA attacking Ben Carson, CAIR has a spokesman Ibrahim Hooper. He unintentionally proved Carson’s point when he attacked him. Here’s what Hooper and CAIR believe.
SOURCE:
Hooper stated that if Muslims were ever to become a numerical majority in the U.S., they would likely seek to replace the Constitution with Islamic law (Sharia).
“Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.” Omar Ahmad, Founder of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)
Sharia says that a Muslim is superior to a non-Muslim. It states that non-Muslims must submit to Muslims. It says there is no separation of mosque and state.
This isn’t some abstract theory. In countries where Sharia is law, this is how it actually works.
Someone should ask the church-state-separation liberals why they would want this and yet can’t abide the idea of a Christian doing a tenth as much.
Maybe they think the Muslims will cut them some slack as political friends. And they might at first. But when you get to the ISIS stage, the rules no longer apply.
This concept is discussed in Brigitte Gabriel's book, "Because the Hate". Must Read.
At the least, in Taqqiya mode one could. And "moderate/liberal" Muslims might be able to live with a lite version of their faith which does not try to push sharia upon their surrounding society. But the seeds for radicalization are there, the tinder is in the box.
