Canada is a bad example, they recently scrapped their long gun registry because no one registered. Non-compliance on a massive scale got them to back down.

Granny is batty.
First of all three countries do not have the Second Amendment. If some one wants to turn in their gun say for $100,000 that is their choice. Heck I’ll buy one on the street from a DEA agent and sell it back to Uncle Sam.

Oh ask Australia is doing now without guns in the hands of citizen? Not so good.

Noncompliance coupled with huge costs and no benefit.
Sounds like a perfect example for a US federal program.
