Unless aviation rules are different in Russia, the pilot has the say so on scrubbing a flight for mechanical issues. So if there were problems, why wouldn’t he call it them?
It is just as likely this story is fabrication to cover up the downing of the airliner by the Regime’s “good” ISIS terrorists.
Yours was going to be my next point.

Agreed 100%.
Exactly. What next, the aircraft was brought down by a YouTube video?
The aircraft was an American made plane owned by an Irish company, not a Russian one, and was supposedly well maintained, according to its records. Now reports are saying that the pilot never complained about it and did not make a distress call, but that the plane broke up in midair. Bodies are being recovered over a five mile radius.
Isis released a video (shot from the ground at a distance, it looks) showing a large plane apparently exploding in the middle and then plunging downwards with a huge trail of smoke. They claim it was a missile, but it’s not thought they can reach that high, so some authorities are now suggesting that there was a bomb on board.
“Jobs in Russia are scarce. Jobs in aviation are highly prized, worldwide. Shut up, and fly, Comrade.”
