Kurt Russell: Bill Maher Is a Fake Libertarian

Out promoting his new film “The Hateful Eight,” longtime libertarian Kurt Russell opened up again about his politics, this time to the Daily Beast, where he pointed out an obvious fact: that Bill Maher is nothing close to a libertarian. “I’m not a Bill Maher libertarian,” Russell said. “That’s faux-libertarianism. He doesn’t know what it is. I like him, and he’s a nice guy, but seriously, that’s not libertarianism.”

The other thing I've found is that a lot of liberals in Hollywood are faux-liberals, and a lot of Republicans in Hollywood are faux-conservatives. When I was a young guy, I was finding myself not quite being able to . . . . buy into a political culture. . . . I finally said, "Why don't I go back and see what the Founding Fathers were all about, and see how that stacked up."

Good advice. I've always liked Kurt Russell.

Breitbart went on Maher's show before he died.

He told Maher that his pretense of being a libertarian was BS, that it was obvious he was just another typical leftist statist pretending he was something else.

I don't watch Maher, it seems he likes to dominate conversations, but he was left speechless by Breitbart. No defense, just silence.

Russell is correct about Maher...but I doubt one in ten Americans knows what a Libertarian is. I am not one, but Libertarianism is the only viable alternative to conservatism. And, of course, they merge (or should merge) on many issues.

Today's version of liberalism is more fascism than liberalism.
