It is nothing new that more than half of Russians named their president Vladimir Putin as the "Person of the Year." While in Israel, the Russian leader also enjoyed great popularity.
According to a poll conducted by the Jerusalem Post, 29 percent of respondents chose Putin as their person of the year for 2015, ahead of German Chancellor Angela Merkel in the second place.
The results certainly showed that Putin has made an impact on the people of Israel during 2015.
Merkel, who had been previously chosen as TIME magazine's Person of the Year for 2015, gained 16 percent, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received 15 percent of the vote.
