"The Big Facebook Experiment" - Facebook's Apparent Double Standard
Shurat HaDin - Israel Law Center ^ | 4 Jan 2016 | Unknown

Posted on 01/08/2016 3:06:41 PM PST by American Quilter

Shurat HaDin - Israel Law Center conducted an experiment on Facebook beginning 28 Dec 2015. They created two identical accounts, one inciting violence against Jews, one inciting violence against Palestinians. The posts and videos on each account were the same except for the targets of incitement. Each new pair of posts or videos was posted at the same time. Then Shurat HaDin simultaneously reported both pages to Facebook. On that day, Facebook closed the page inciting against Palestinians. The page inciting against Jews was not closed and, according to Shurat HaDin, remains open today. See more at Shurat HaDin Facebook Page

This is an interesting and somewhat nauseating example of an apparent double standard practiced by Facebook. Does anyone know anything more about this incident? Shurat HaDin apparently conducted the experiment after 20,000 Israelis filed suit against Facebook in Oct 2015 for permitting incitement and calls to murder Jews by Palestinians. Here's an article about it by the Jerusalem Post: Article

I did the same thing when Obama was elected. I made two identical T-Shirts and put them up for sale on both CafePress and Zazzle.
1.) Anti Obama Shirt
2.) Anti Bush Shirt

The Obama shirt was immediately banned, the Bush shirt is still available today.

There is a now largely dead website called “Digg” that I used to post on.

I got banned by objecting to calls for the murder of Jewish people.

It was pathetic.

Anyway, a lot of ex-Digg people are at Facebook.

The left has chosen to promote Islam and to harass those that Islam hates. The choice is deliberate. Islam and the left are allied. Muzz’s give money and votes, leftists protect and promote Islam.

Of course, it's not truly an experiment if you know how it's going to come out.

And Mark Zuckerberg, the owner of Facebook, is Jewish. Wouldn’t you think he’d have identical policies for all groups, including Jews and Muslims, against inciting violence and murder? Apparently, though, he doesn’t.

“Of course, it’s not truly an experiment if you know how it’s going to come out.”

Actually it is. Much experimental design goes to prove that some thing that is known, actually stands up to experimental testing.

This is the exact thing that the nondemocRAT folks need to do. Put the same thing out there, catch the media doing what we expect them to do, and nail them with it.

Here's Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook post after the San Bernardino terrorist attack:

"I want to add my voice in support of Muslims in our community and around the world. After the Paris attacks and hate this week, I can only imagine the fear Muslims feel that they will be persecuted for the actions of others. As a Jew, my parents taught me that we must stand up against attacks on all communities. Even if an attack isn't against you today, in time attacks on freedom for anyone will hurt everyone. If you're a Muslim in this community, as the leader of Facebook I want you to know that you are always welcome here and that we will fight to protect your rights and create a peaceful and safe environment for you. Having a child has given us so much hope, but the hate of some can make it easy to succumb to cynicism. We must not lose hope. As long as we stand together and see the good in each other, we can build a better world for all people."

Nice sentiment, but why doesn't he then make sure there are no accounts on Facebook inciting violence against and murder of Jews?

Sorry about that AQ, it’s my FR shorthand, it stands for Book Mark. I use that for articles that interest me, but that I don’t feel the need to comment on. My apologies for any confusion I may have caused.

No apology needed, Sergio—I just thought it was some cool new acronym that I hadn’t seen before. Dopey me!

I think Twitter is going the same direction — steering content to the left.
