He was reaching for a gun - he had one in his pocket.
Looks like they blew him away as he was stumbling through the snow.
Looks to me like he had his hands up, was struggling in the deep snow, didn’t know the LEO was coming out of the woods behind him...and about the time he did realize it his hands came down to his waist. That’s when they popped him.

It looks like he drove away from the first stop and ran into a second road block.
Roadblock wasn’t set up or conducted very well. Watch him go off the road. I think he hit one of the cops.
I know there’s backstory, but it’s still pretty universal...don’t run from the police, don’t wave guns around at the police, don’t charge or drive at the police. Let the lawyers fight about it.
The armed standoff, the guns, the talk, I’m glad it didn’t end worse.
I still think he hit a cop, and since we aren’t hearing about it, I think the guy must be ok. He might have had a different take on how dangerous the driver was.

Where is the video from the vehicle camera’s. That would be more valuable than video from a helicopter flying thousands of feet up.
The F.B.I. and the Oregon State Police need to release all of this video to prove this was a legitimate killing.
Otherwise there will be hell to pay.
I think the FBI arrived with the intent to execute a military style operation to “take down” the protestors.

good point. jibs pretty good with how i saw it. maybe that’s why he was flailing his arms. trying to keep his balance.
See 24 - I was not there so who knows, but please enlighten me how ANY COP IN AMERICA would not think these men were armed given the parading around for cameras they had done for 3 weeks while occupying public property. They talked plenty about firearms. Find a photograph or interview of Finicum where you could see his waist (or shoulder holster) and he was not armed.

I think this was after the arrests per their youtube stream, but this guy appears to be mentally ill.
Because we all know that no one can shoot their weapon while standing in snow.

He did hit one of the cops when the cop ran in front of his vehicle!
Assuming that video is reliable — LAPD would have dropped him under the same situation.
Most interesting thing to me was the guy hiding in the woods.
We have no idea if the air bag(s) went off when he rammed into the snowbank. If he was injured when he hit, there may be bruising on the outside, and an autopsy should show any impact injury on the inside. It will be interesting to see how many times he was hit, and where he was hit. The guy who came out of the trees on the left of the screen wasn't that far away from him when he shot him.
