What Trump said in his tweet is absolutely correct. A lot of Tea Party conservatives said one thing to get elected and did another thing when they went to Washington. What, you don’t like hearing the truth? That’s why we don’t want politicians this time around.

Exhibit A: Marco "Gang of Eight" Rubio. I'd vote for Bernie Sanders before I voted for that backstabber. At least Bernie is being honest about his intentions.

As you said,
“A lot of Tea Party conservatives said one thing to get elected and did another thing when they went to Washington.”

But one candidate did not. Ted Cruz ran on certain principles and followed them after he went to the Senate.

A lot of the old boys in that Old Boys Club didn’t take too kindly to that.

But it showed me that Cruz is a man of principle.

Another example: He wanted to win Iowa. The Ethanol lobby and the Governor are totally in the pocket of ethanol subsides. What to do... what to do. Trump chose to support the ethanol subsides. Cruz stuck to his principles and won anyway.
