Here's why Donald Trump keeps talking about suing Ted Cruz
Christian Science Monitor ^ | FEBRUARY 16, 2016 | Peter Grier

...

"He sues, most of all, to make headlines and to reinforce the notion that he is powerful," wrote Daily Beast reporter Olivia Nuzzi in an overview of his lawsuits last July.

...

His goal in this may not be paving the way for an actual bolt from the party so much as establishing a narrative about why he lost - if he loses, which is far from a sure thing. That’s what some right-leaning pundits suspect, in any case.

"Trump's image depends on him being seen as the consummate winner; if he loses to Cruz, he'll need to explain how that possibly could have happened. The only tolerable excuse is that he was cheated," writes Allahpundit...

Such inconsistent statements would be of no consequence in an actual law suit. They were not made under oath and constitute no legal authority of any kind. If questioned on the stand all Trump would have to say was that he thought Cruz was eligible at first glance but then looked into it and found that it was not the case.

The fact remains that there is a problem and as of now it has not been dealt with or decided in any way that creates actual legal precedent.

OK, I’ll bite. Cite the lie that Cruz told about his opponents.

Ted Cruz lied yesterday.

“The one person Donald has pointed to as a potential Supreme Court nominee is his sister,” Cruz told reporters here Monday, though Trump opened Saturday night’s debate by name-checking federal judges Bill Pryor and Diane Sykes.

http://www.politico.com/blogs/south-carolina-primary-2016-live-updates-and-results/2016/02/cruz-skewers-trumps-sister-in-supreme-court-debate-219303

Cruz was standing right next to Trump at the debate, when he was the only candidate to actually offer names for SC consideration. Ergo, Cruz is lying to voters and hoping they don’t know any better.

There’s also a second lie built into Cruz’s claim here. Trump was giving his sister a compliment, and immediately after joking about putting her on the SC, said “Let’s just rule that out now.”

About the second lie here, most Cruz supporters will say “yeah right, he wasn’t joking!” at the second part, because they are joyless wannabe lawyers, and emulate their candidate.

But the lie Cruz told yesterday saying “THE ONE PERSON” is inescapable and cannot be spun. It’s an outright, intentional, plain-as-day attempt to mislead voters with false information.

Suppose he does, which he won’t, what court do you seem to believe (don’t think trumpbots actually think)is going to rule either way? The SCOTUS? Supremes are now short one and wouldn’t make any significant decision until a new Judge is seated sometime in late 2017. Once Cruz is sworn in he’s President, period, according to the Constitution.

Trump will not sue for one he knows he does not have standing and two, it would immediately take away his empty threat.

I call BS on this self serving Trump the bully post. The only reason Trump has done anything is to help Trump. It is at the point I now refuse to ever vote for this megalomaniac narcissist.

Interesting theory, but I doubt it.

Worth a try, unless you are quite happy with everything the British Subject born (His father of record was a British Subject, making him at best a dual US Citizen/British Subject) obama has done.

I was thinking that it would be great if Rubio, Carson and Trump made a political ad together each saying one sentence about Cruz being a liar. All three men agree Cruz will lie on a stack of Bible’s. This would be history making theater.

Thoughts like this are why you are an anonymous poster on an internet forum and the 3 (well, 2 and a half) you mention are running for President of the United States.

Cruz should call a press conference, say he refuses to apologize and that he dares Trump to sue. Worst case scenario, Trump wins and we avoided nominating someone who was ineligible. Best case scenario, Trump sues and loses, thereby clearing the air once and for all.

And you spent invaluable time that you will never get back again to read court transcripts of a case in where Donald Trump sued a reporter who claimed he wasn’t as wealthy as he was?

Suing is the one area of the law where a rich man can abuse a poor man.

If a man with $10 million wishes to ruin a man who has $100,000 he can simply sue him into poverty. He need not win, he need only litigate. “Loser pays” doesn’t mean much if you don’t have the initial money to win.

Why should we believe Trump will follow through on any of his campaign promises when he isn’t even following through on a lawsuit?

Trump will not sue for one he knows he does not have standing

Who, in your universe, would have standing to dare question the bona fides of a presidential candidate?

Serious question, I'd like a serious answer.

That’s what you’re going with? Really? Did he suggest his sister or not? And your quote is also misleading. Trump said, “rule it out now, AT LEAST”

So by your own standard are you a lying scumbag? You didn’t give a full and complete quote, even though you cited part of the quote accurately. Yours was also “an outright, intentional, plain-as-day attempt to mislead FReepers with false information.

Well guess I the Cruz haters have no use for assault weapons.

Cruz was the lead senator fighting the the lefties in the Senate when they were all in trying to pass more restrictions on our guns.
