Donald Trump: Tapping of Paul Ryan for veep was ‘end’ of 2012 campaign
The Washington Times ^ | February 17, 2016 | David Sherfinski

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Wednesday said the selection of 2012 GOP vice presidential nominee Paul D. Ryan was the "end" of the campaign for Republicans because of the perceptions surrounding Mr. Ryan and entitlement spending.

"Every single other candidate is going to cut the hell out of your Social Security," Mr. Trump said in response to a question about the program at an event in South Carolina.

"Remember the wheelchair being pushed over the cliff when you had Ryan chosen as your vice president? That was the end of that campaign, by the way, when they chose Ryan," Mr. Trump said. "And I like him - he's a nice person - but that was the end of [the] campaign."

"I said you got to be kidding," Mr. Trump said. "[Because] he represented cutting entitlements, etcetera, etcetera. The only one that's not going to cut is me."

So now Trump repeats his view that entitlement reform is not needed and that he will not cut entitlement spending. So in what way is he conservative exactly?

Nominating Romney, who was the original author of Obamacare, was the end of the 2012 campaign.

And that's why I'm going to need to get very drunk before pulling the lever for him in November.

Oh, I don’t know...how about building a wall, securing our borders, deporting illegal immigrants, keeping out the ones with criminal records, doing away with PC garbage in gov, ending common core, protecting 2nd amendment, taking care of Vets, fixing anti-American trade deals, setting in motion improvements to the economy to bring jobs back...that’s for starters.

And I agree Ryan sucked, mainly because he’s a mental midget that even made Biden look like a MENSA member.

He is going to cut unnecessary waste and fraud. There will be no more throwing around and wasting billions and billions of dollars with nothing to show for it and no accountability.

He's not. People just don't care. As far as I can tell, the only two issues of interest to most Trump supporter focus are 1) the wall and promise to deport 11 million people, and 2) slapping a 45% tariff on Cjina.

The joke is going to be that he'll never get either of those through Congress.

You are wasting you time. These are people who have gotten by for years complaining as the Country went to Hell, and the prospect of not being able to do that any more has them totally bonkers!

Here Trump is again continuing the myth that Social Security or Medicare are sustainable. They aren’t without major tax increases on working Americans, and maybe not even then as such taxes could put the economy in a death spiral.

Trump is not the candidate of change, he’s the status quo establishment choice compared to true reformer Ted Cruz.

And Romney’s campaign was over the minute Romney was nominated. Northeastern moderate billionaires with a history of being pro-abortion and for socialized medicine can’t win.

If he donates like a liberal and talks like a liberal then can we say he is a liberal?

As far as “fixing anti-American trade deals,” what has to be done to fix them? How do I tell the difference between a “good” one and a bad one? What do I look for in the deal to know it’s “fixed?”

As far as, “setting in motion improvements to the economy to bring jobs back,” that’s vague as hell. And without reforming entitlements which Trump won’t do, our debt will continue to spiral and drag on the economy and eventually collapse it. And if Trump puts tariffs on imports, the economy will become an absolute train wreck with soaring prices and lost jobs.

Cruz is for all these:

building a wall
securing our borders
deporting illegal immigrants
keeping out the ones with criminal records
doing away with PC garbage in gov
ending common core
protecting 2nd amendment
taking care of Vets

LOL...what politician hasn't promised to do that? If it was possible to do, it would've been done already. Who campaigns on increasing waste and fraud?

I still haven’t given up but if Trump gets the nomination, someone is going to have to sedate me and drive me to the polls with a tape of Hillary cackling in the background.
