Rev. Jeffress from an intereview earlier this week:
“Evangelicals are divided between what I call the idealist and the pragmatist. The idealist are the ones who are supporting Ted Cruz and would say if we could just get a strong Christian in the White House, perhaps we could return our nation to its Judeo-Christian foundation. But then there are the pragmatists who say as much as we would like to have a faith-centered candidate, perhaps our country has moved too far to the left for that to happen, and so let’s get the most conservative candidate who is electable. And many of those are going for a Donald Trump.”
Smart man. His opinion carries a lot of weight, and he has it right.
What has Trump done in the past to show that he is conservative at all? But I guess that since Jeffords is the pastor of the richest Church in Dallas, he tends to be on the side of the ‘Pragmatists.â€
| I like that bigbob. This is why we love Trump. It's not just the pollllicies, it's also his proven ability to lead and get things done in large organizations. This guy is going to be more effective and unite the country far better than Reagan did. He's a true blue American with a warrior's work ethic and a heart of gold. As he says, "I've been greedy all my life, and now I'm going to be greedy for Americans." Cruzers are going to be proud of him, too. They just need to take the leap of faith that he will do what's right for both Americans and the conservative cause. |
