A newly whispered rumor involves Donald Trump and Newt Gingrich having preliminary discussion about Gingrich's involvement in a Trump White House as the potential new president's Chief of Staff.

A few years back I told my wife this country was so bad off we would need a Fuehrer to get us back on track.(not the Hitler type)

I looked at all the possibilities and realized Newt Gingrich had the Muslims pegged right many years ago and was my choice.

Trump is the best hope now, and I would like to see Gingrich in a Trump administration if Trump makes it. -Tom

Looking good. He needs an arm twister for Congress. Rubio and Cruz are going to e so damaged by this campaign in Donald’s eyes that Trump will need ppl like Newt, Christie.

He did an incredible job with the Republican Revolution in 1994.

If true, this is Trump’s way of pissing all over Paul Ryan and I love it. Trump would in essence have the Speaker of the House working for him.

Considering that Newt did more IN ONE DAY when he ran the House than today’s GOPe have been able to do in 5 YEARS, this certainly sounds like a good choice to me.

It needs to be someone who will help Trump to steamroll the obstructionists in Congress, not make deals with them. Whoever is tasked by Trump to deal with Congress needs to take Trump’s lead and always put the opposition on the defensive. They need to spend the next four years petrified of losing their jobs and reputations. The goal for the next four years should be to make them as uncomfortable as possible.

If Trump surrounds himself with the 'old guard conservatives', Rubio and Cruz will have some 'splaining to do about their 'con artist' accusations against Trump.

John Bolton would be worth considering, too. I would imagine he and Trump would get along great.

If Gingrich is appointed Chief of Staff, whatever you do don’t make him use the rear staircase on Air Force One.

Newt is a great idea guy who is on to the next idea before implementing the previous idea.

Chief of Staff needs a person like Kasich...His ideas are lousy. But he is skilled at implementing them effectively.

When Gingrich last ran for president a reporter asked him about his attendance at a Bohemia Grove ritual. Gingrich looked at the reporter and did not reply as though the question was never asked. He just kept acting like he was waiting for the reporter's next question with his cemented crap eating grin. Had he commented, it would have been a lie or an admission. Lose lose on his part. Demonstrably, Gingrich is a DC establishment insider to the core. A Trump administration would lose credibility very quickly with folks like Newt Gingrich on his team.
