We would’ve heard about this MONTHS AGO at the start of the campaign if this were true.
Cruz and Rubio are bringing up a story from 30 years ago, and then adding their campaign lies on top.
I’m sure every major employer in America has employed illegals at one time or another. It’s pretty much impossible to determine status in any case. Besides, employers are vested by their investors to keep labor costs as low as possible. It’s GOVERNMENT that is supposed to keep these people OUT and the border SECURE.
Not developers.
You would think from this PROAGANDA, that Trump personally didn’t pay workers. Total BS, he paid the contractor their bid, they paid their workers, they paid their workers slightly above the minimum wage.
NBC is really willing to step low these days. Still mad that their most successful show for ten years had to end when its creator decided to run for president. A golden opportunity to explain labor laws, union demands, comparative illegal and immigrant statistics from 38 years ago to now, and the kinds of extortionate law suits that cheat the victims and reward the lawyers, naming names; but instead they go for the backstabbing.

What was odd about them?
Here’s what happens in building large projects in NYC.
Trump hires a general contractor to build the building. They, in turn, hire the trade contractors that build the building. Demolition work in the 1980s and 1990s was mainly a polish occupied labor force (along with the Italians). More likely than not, Trump would not be able to hire a GC that didn’t engage a subcontractor that was not polish back then.
The owner doesn’t screen for subcontractor employees. The GC does. More likely than not, Trump had no idea that the GC was hiring illegals.
