No, Cruz was endorsing his fellow GOPer Rubio. They are all scared of Trump getting in. He is the only outsider running that they can’t control. The uniparty fears Trump because he might upset their gravy train. They know Cruz, Rubio or Kasich will not.
I was just reading all the articles about the girls/women who are going to Syria to be Daesh wives. My first thought is that the current head of the administration really doesn’t give a hoot about women. The second was, why are these people following these recruiters and how can they be so bloody blind? Sound familiar? I think I’m going to search for a couple of shrink articles on the psych behind those who go to join daesh as opposed to those who go to FIGHT daesh. Good study, eh?
Note those claims are all in the past tense (:^D)Which is reason enough to believe that his current "claims" will be in the "past tense" once he wins the election.
1) the very first Congress passed a law defining who was a natural born citizen. Who better than they to understand what the Framers meant?
2) The baseline for our legal tradition is English law, because that was the law in effect in the colonies. And in England, Parliament -the analog to Congress - had repeatedly passed laws modifying the definition of a natural born citizen. Absent something clear to the contrary, that would have been the understanding/intent of the Framers as well.
3) Providing a clear definition of NBC in the Constitution would have been simple in the extreme had the Framers intended to hardwire such a definition into the Constitution. They didn't. So either we try to read non-existent tea leaves, or we look at the arguments above and conclude that leaving it up to Congress is what they intended. That's the most reasonable course.
The Framers were not perfect, and this is one area where they certainly could have been more explicit. But in the absence of that, it would do less violation to our system of government to have an elected Congress rather than a group of nine unelected justices, make that determination. In other words, err on the side of deference to Congress.
Why would they be worried about him upsetting the gravy train? What are you talking about? This man makes DEALS. He doesn’t ever upset anyone’s train if it is unloading the gravy onto his plate.
Besides, it’s not like the president appoints our senators and reps. In fact, I can see DT reacting to the balance of power with the STROKE OF A PEN. Or maybe the FBI, NSA, or DOJ. you know, he does love lawsuits and lawyers so just think HOW MUCH FUN IT’S GOING TO BE with all that power.
The uniparty cannot be sure what Trump will do which is why he scare them. They own Rubio and Cruz and have no worries with either of them.
I searched the article and found no such quote.
Certainly, if it is even real at all, it will be so out of context as to be unrecognizable to the headline.
TDS all the way.
(Chuckling)
Maybe only God knows.
TDS can get tedious
That's rather brilliant. Well played!
I was wondering when that wisecrack would suggest itself to someone, but it never did. So I used it myself.
In engineering thermodynamics they also talk of T dS work and I kept waiting for the professor to joke about it and he never did. Maybe it would have been overly tedious. (T is absolute temperature and dS is a differential element of entropy.)
I think all candidates for the office of the President should release their tax returns.
I’m a Cruz supporter and I understand the bit with Rubio just fine. Ted is a class act. He recognizes that even Rubio is not as big a threat to the country as Trump is. I too, forced to make the specific choice between Trump and Rubio, would have to go with Rubio. They’re both disasters, but the Trump disaster would be YUGE. Nobody who has been following what Cruz has been teaching would see his statement as a blanket endorsement of Rubio. That is utter nonsense.

SR
I completely concur!
I appreciate Cruz letting us know that he supports the GANG-OF-EIGHT candidate over the “Build the Wall” candidate.
And I do appreciate him letting us know early, but I doubt it was a smart political move for him.
Could you repeat that, please?
I truly believe most folks know better than to be duped into thinking that was anything other than Ted being gracious, as he always is, and making a point about Trump being a greater risk than Rubio, in spite of Rubio’s poor track record.
But there’s something else you should consider. Rubio’s position on abortion is significantly better than Trump’s. Again, if the choice was just Trump versus Rubio, I would be unable to go with Trump on moral grounds. He’s ok with killing innocent babies if the dad happens to be a rapist or a sibling. There is no universe in which I could knowingly vote for that evil. And I am not alone.
As for Trump promising to build a wall, as a man he took solemn oaths to multiple women, which he broke. As a business he made promises to multiple lenders, which he broke. He is a serial promise breaker. How does one earn trust that way? I do not understand the apparent disconnect in the minds of Trump supporters between the fiery rhetoric and the reality of how that man has lived his life. In an earlier generation, he would not have made it to first base, politically speaking.
Peace,
SR
That’s your choice...and if this were a simple policy wonk election, I’d likely be with you. But keep in mind Rubio’s not so hot as far as keeping promises, both political and personal (according to rumors).
I’ve heard the rumors, and made a conscious decision not to participate. Until something like that is confirmed, it is defamation even to repeat it. It could turn out to be a complete fabrication, designed for political effect. Until the truth is known, repeating such things just puts a person at risk of violating the 9th Commandment, thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. Defamation is serious business. I’ll take a pass on that.
Peace,
SR
