Gay Marriage on the Rocks
Accuracy in Academia ^ | March 8, 2016 | Malcolm A. Kline

Outside of academia, even gay marriage supporters are dubious about the Supreme Court’s legal logic in legalizing it. "When I read Justice Kennedy’s decision, I wanted to embroider it on a pillow but wondered if it was a sound legal opinion," openly gay conservative columnist Guy Benson said at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

Benson spoke on a panel which, primarily, focused on the SCOTUS decision. "This conversation could not be held at a left-wing conference," he claimed, noting that the Left demands more unanimity of thought, and action, on this issue than does the Right.

"One of the most potent arguments that proponents of same sex marriage had was that it would not affect those who disagree with them but that argument went by the wayside when the political objective was achieved, when it became, 'agree with us or else,' ruining businesses, for example," Benson said. "I part company with that." He calls it "cultural cronyism."

"Title VII was meant for hotels so that people did not have to go hundreds of miles to find a place to stay not florists or bakers who you can find in the hundreds," Ilya Shapiro of the Cato Institute noted. Shapiro has been an adjunct professor at the George Washington University Law School.

Have you been a victim of cultural cronyism?

The Right regards any opposition to sodomite pseudomarriage as conferring on the flatearther, tinfoil head bearer of such views, the status of Bug Eyed Zealot.

In my life of 53 years, I’ve been told by companies twice that they could not accept my resume because they were looking for a minority or woman (I work in a STEM field). I’m sure that that very few blacks, women, or homosexuals of my age has never been explicitly told that.

The "legal reasoning" is basically: "some relationship combinations can benefit from being deemed 'married,' so they shall be deemed 'married.'"

Here comes polygamy and incestuous marriage, sooner than later.

When you can define words as anything you choose, words lose all meaning.

Why don’t they ‘define’ marriage as the union of one human and one dog or horse?

It can’t be far off.

Congratulations on finding two that were honest enough to admit the real reason. I’ll be the real number is more than two score (40).

You are probably right. I have a very valuable skill set and even the two that told me no were feeling pain for having to do it. It hurt them a lot more than it hurt me.

The fact they admit that shows how ingrained it is that not only that is the way it is, but that’s the way it’s SUPPOSED to be.

In America, go to any bank, pharmacy, government agency, doctor’s office, real estate office, public school (teachers and administrators), hospital, travel agency,...you name it, and the vast majority are female. Next are black/brown female and black/brown males, and the bottom 5% are split between white straight and homosexual men.

Never any fear of the EEOC or guilt of their obvious gender and/or racial bias. Forty years of anti white male propaganda have made it woven into the fabric of our society.

Just wait until the Queen of feminazi’s is Chief Executive.

You are quite right. We are expected to carry the load on our shoulders with little hope of promotions or even recognition. We have a sense of obligation, so we do it. But, when we retire or die, I know that there have been almost no Millennials who have stepped in to replace me. They live in the cube farms and become the 30 year old managers who giggle at us 50+ year old managers, but none of them know how it all works.

When Gen X leaves the workforce, the lights will go out and the water will stop flowing.

Same here when I came out of college in the early 70’s. I was told during my first trip to a recruitment company that they could get me hundreds of offers from Fortune 500 companies if I was a woman, Black, disabled, or better yet some combo of all three, but it was slim pickings for white boys.

Gen X? It’s already happening as the Boomers age out.

I was threatened by a co-worker for not printing gay wedding invitations. Thankfully, she didn’t have the power to fire me. The boss was a bit more understanding.

I know. It’s bad now. But, it won’t hit the critical stage until the Gen X’ers begin to age out.

After one early error, I never again even hinted to anyone why they were not hired. It’s a shame too - I could have given good advice to many job seekers. Instead, when someone raised a red flag (gay, feminist, minority who thinks skin color matters, etc.), I smiled, expressed my approval, and made sure an even more positive interview continued from there. Then I didn’t hire them, usually because I had regretfully decided not to fill the position.

Do they ask her for her political leanings or does she put that on her resume? No one has ever asked me for my politics in a job interview.

In 2012, when asked directly, she admitted that she voted for Romney. BTW, that was at Boeing. In a previous job, she sent an e-mail asking for prayers for her son who was serving in the Navy in Afghanistan. That offended her co-workers, at a defense contractor!
