If we’re ultra-conservative w/ proportional contests, and assume Trump loses a number of states that he currently leads, he still gets ~1,300…

Maybe, and maybe MI.

One thing is for sure:

Cruz has ZERO chance of taking any blue state away from dems.

But keep in mind the rules committee could just change the rules about the 8 state minimum.

I agree, it’s getting very annoying. You keep saying that he beat Trump over and over and over again yet Trump has beat him the more than twice as much. I used to like Ted Cruz, but his arrogance just throws me off

Trump may or may not beat Hillary in New York in the general. But what he does do is put New York in play. Hillary will have to devote resources there that she could use elsewhere. Maybe this costs her Ohio, or Pennsylvania. Catering to New York voters may not sit well with other swing state voters. It is a new dynamic.

Once the inner-party sniping is over, we’ll see a different Trump, and I think he’ll win over a lot of folks that are opposed to him now.

“People are “scared” of Trump. He’s Hitler reincarnated.”

That;s idiotic.

Lol. Is that you Megyn? I hear that’s all she’s been parroting, lately.

Like Trump said...,there’ve been four/+ candidates in the race, up til now. His numbers are actually quite good, considering.

But, your concern has been noted, nonetheless.

“Fact is when Cruz ran for the senate in Texas his opponent’s campaign manager was Jeff Roe “

An outright lie. Try next time not to say something so easily googled.

Jeff Roe was NOT Dewhurst;s campaign manager when Dewhurst was running against Cruz. Roe only worked for the Dewhurst campaign.

The Dewhurst campaign chairman was a man who was indicted for imbezzlement, a fact that likely caused Roe to seek other pastures. http://trailblazersblog.dallasnews.com/2014/10/barfield-pleads-guilty-to-embezzling-1-8-million-from-david-dewhurst-campaigns.html/

You, sir, are a babbling idiot.

I am not spinning for Jeb. His votes had to go somewhere and they certainly were not going for Trump.

You people can say a million, zillion times that Ted Cruz is the GOPe favorite but Mitch McConnell is praying every night for a Trump victory. He could deal with Trump and probably win the deal with a little flattery thrown in.

He has good reason to know that Cruz is not a malleable pushover.

Well, we’ll find out eventually.

Supper time and time for Smitty’s walk. Have a good night and keep those votes coming in.

“Cruz can skewer her and remain a gentleman. “

And nobody would notice.

When Trump skewers her, they will see she has been skewered.

Hillary is afraid of Trump. That is why she is working hard to have him taken out in the R primaries, so she won’t have to face him.

you are not even getting my point.

It is not mathematically can Trump get the nomination. He likely will.

It is we need OVERWHELMING support to beat the Hildabeast.

Squeaking by with less than 50% typically is not a mandate, and we need a clear throated victory, not a squeamish attempt aka Romney.

If Trump doesn’t lock it up in the primaries, he’s not going to be the nominee.

You are correct. If no one goes to the convention with the magic number of committed delegates, the nomination could end being anyone who is still in the race. After the first vote delegates are no longer committed. Also, there are uncommitted delegates at the convention, about 9% as I understand it.

Agreed, but a lot of what I've been seeing seems calculated to prevent that.
