In Cuba on Monday, President Obama said that he "personally would not disagree" with some of Communist dictator Raul Castro's criticisms of America.
During a joint press conference with the president, Castro attacked America over its record on human rights, the trade embargo (which he called a "blockade"), its illegal occupation of Guantanamo Bay, and its inconceivable failure to provide free food, health care, and social security.
Fellow traveler Obama saw nothing in that laundry list that he could disagree with.
President Castro, I think, has pointed out that in his view making sure everybodys getting a decent education or health care, has basic security in old age, that those things are human rights as well, Obama said. "I personally would not disagree with that.
He added, I actually welcome President Castro commenting on some of the areas where he feels were falling short because I think we should not be immune or afraid of criticism or discussion as well.
Obama Welcomes Castro's Criticism of America: 'I Personally Would Not Disagree'
Earlier in the day, Obama and his delegation posed in front of a building with a mural depicting left-wing darling Ernesto "Che" Guevara.
Obama likes to accuse his opponents of standing on the wrong side of history. The irony here is sad. #CubaVisit pic.twitter.com/h8shb84Ha8

This was the president's call, by the way:

For those not acquainted with Che Guevara, journalist Michael J Totten describes him as "Fidel Castros chief executioner, a mass-murderer...."
Just as Jacobin Paris had Louis Antoine de Saint-Just, wrote French historian Pascal Fontaine, revolutionary Havana had Che Guevara, a Latin American version of Nechaev, the nineteenth century nihilist terrorist who inspired Dostoevskys The Devils. As Guevara wrote to a friend in 1957, My ideological training means that I am one of those people who believe that the solution to the worlds problems is to be found behind the Iron Curtain. He was a great admirer of the Cultural Revolution [in China]. According to Regis Debray, It was he and not Fidel who in 1960 invented Cubas first corrective work camp, or what the Americans would call a slave labor camp and the Russians called the gulag.
As Human Rights Foundation founder Thor Halvorssen famously wrote in an open letter to the Che-loving clothing chain Urban Outfitters, their hero's "corrective work camps" were filled with "political dissidents, homosexuals, Jehovahs Witneses, Afro-Cuban priests, and anyone else who had committed "crimes" against the new moral revolution."
Totten notes that Cubans who display open hatred for Che get arrested -- which is an improvement over what happened to them when he was still alive: "they were executed or herded into slave-labor camps."
Cuba's "national hero" is only popular because everyone is required to revere him under penalty of law.
Our president chose to pose in front of a mural lionizing that guy. Talk about "being on the wrong side of history."
But then, Obama's entire presidency -- from his first year "Apology Tour" to his late-term capitulations to Islamic and Communist tyrants -- has been one woeful example after another of being on the wrong side of history.
‘decent health care’. What a load of crap. I worked in the Interest Section in Havana in the 90’s. The locals might have had free health care, but it was non-existent health care. They couldn’t even get aspirin.
IMPEACH...and if and when he TRIES to get the cubans gitmo...hang him...because he needs to be _ _ _ D!
Still trying to figure out how this helps Hillary!.
“IMPEACH”
IF ONLY our elected representatives had the guts to impeach him the first time he deserved it, this country would already be better for it.
Obama Atones for Americas Sins in Cuba

.... Palm Sunday 2016, Barack Hussein Obama, political redeemer of the secular left, arrived in communist Cuba aboard Air Force One. It is an island once rich in the faith, only to be annihilated by Fidel and Raul Castro and their war on religion.
Heaven right here in front of me, was how Thomas Merton, the atheist-communist who became a devout Catholic monk, once described pre-Castros Cuba. Every morning I could find my way quickly to any one of a dozen churches as old as the seventeenth century. Almost as soon as I went in the door I could receive Communion, if I wished and every fifteen or twenty minutes a new Mass was starting at a different altar . Everywhere I turned, there was someone ready to feed me with the infinite strength of the Christ Who loved me.
That was the wondrous, pious Cuba the Castro brothers destroyed. And it is the Castro boys that Barack Obama, product of a pro-communist/pro-Castro mother and father and a literal Communist Party USA mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, is eager to embrace and to forgive. Really, Im sure that in his heart of hearts, Barack agrees with the Castros that America is the side that needs to be forgiven. America is the aggressor, the sinner that stands in need of reparation.
That being the case, Im equally sure that Obama felt no shame when Raul Castro snubbed him by not showing up to greet him when his plane landed literally as 50 Cuban dissidents were arrested by the totalitarian states police goons. It was a humiliation, a disgrace, but a humiliation and disgrace that Obama, Americas president of fundamental transformation, no doubt felt was deserved.
One modern Pharisee who rebuked Obama for this embarrassment is Donald Trump. Mercifully taking a break from torching Republicans as liars, losers, idiots, morons, and chokers, and from encouraging his own disciples to knock the hell and knock the crap out of dissenters at his rallies, Trump justly slammed Obama for the Castro slight.
Wow, President Obama just landed in Cuba, a big deal, and Raul Castro wasnt even there to greet him, Trump tweeted shortly before Obama blithely strolled inside the glorious Havana cathedral that the Castros have controlled for over half a century. He [Raul] greeted Pope and others. No respect.
It was the best Tweet from the Tweet-master/insult-master in months. No one can sling it like Donald Trump. And he wasnt finished.
