I like Newt, but he is absolutely the wrong choice for Trump’s VP. Chief of staff, maybe, but not on the ticket.
Ummm... Have you bothered to consider Newt’s age and expectation that a VP is the next in line? Do the math.
The only people that describes are - - Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi.

If Trump is worried that he could lose Ohio, then Kasich it will be. This is the primary reason to pick a VP. Kennedy picked LBJ because he could deliver Texas. He did in a barn burner of an election.

I predict Trump will make a great VP pick.
He’s already written off conservatives. He’s going to be leaning to the left in order to meet Hillary. Besides, it’s really about winning in particular states. There are no conservatives that can deliver Florida or Ohio.
He didn’t choose Bush. The party shoved Bush on him if he was to expect their cooperation. It was he either took on Bush as VP, or the Republican Party would not play ball. The party was just as elitist then as today, only they were more discreet about it.
