The National Rifle Association on Wednesday announced the appointment of a veteran campaign manager to handle its grassroots campaign to defeat a Nevada ballot measure that would expand firearm background checks to private sales and transfers.

The group NRA Nevadans for Freedom tapped Robert Uithoven, who recently managed the campaign for Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt, for the job. Uithoven’s hire signals that NRA Nevadans for Freedom is gearing up for a serious fight to defeat Question 1 on the November ballot, the organization said. The group also recently launched a website.

Well, I certainly hope they make an effort. The ever affable nanny bloomers and his ilk have already ponied up over $3 million to push it through. If the general public is as ignorant as the gullible people who signed the petition to get it on the ballot, it'll pass. No doubt the momunists and margabby kellygiffords will be heavily involved as the (s)elections get closer.

VOTE NO ON 1!

For almost 2 years the local Nevada NRA affiliate has been fighting this battle on its own without any real help from the NRA. Now, 5 months before the election, the NRA makes a big deal about hiring a consultant to show the local rubes how it’s done?

When this happened in Washington, the NRA did little more than phone it in. Bloomberg and his buddies spent over $10 Million to the NRA’s $600K. then they let Bloomberg roll over Oregon without putting up a fight. In Nevada they aren’t even phoning it in - they’re just doing Kabuki Theater.

The NRA gave us the NICS system which tracks retail firearms sales. They are not interested in stopping the criminalization of private personal property firearm transfers.

In 2014 Washington got gun owner registration via a “universal background check” ballot initiative. In 2015 the Oregon Legislature did the same thing. In 2016, Bloomberg will most likely conquer Nevada and Maine unless local gun owners put down the TV remotes, crawl out of their couches and vote to stop it. The NRA will not be there to save them.

Kinda what I’m thinkin’ too. A little short review of what happened in OR should sound the alarm bells but the IPOS voters will buy the promise of an end to ALL “gun violence” and ALL “domestic violence” if they simply vote to pass this initiative. After all, it’s about “safety” not “control”. Lyin’ bastards. That’s the line of BS the folks gathering signature were spewing. To mostly women in our area. And, they bought it without question.

1 needs to be challenged in court. It was improperly certified by the SoS.

The SoS is a liberal shill. Court challenges are expensive and all you’re buying is a coin toss. The local guys can’t afford and the NRA isn’t about to fund it - they’ve conceded this battle.

Well, that's a change from what we've had to put up with from the NRA in Wyoming.

NRA pushing gun control in Wyoming?

Apparently they weren’t much help in Oregon. And we know nannie bloomers and the momunists have already spent over $3 million here in NV. No conservative gazillionaire in sight.
