I don’t believe this last line from the DPD Police Chief.

The DPD REALLY wants control of the investigation and publicly saying the perp was acting alone prevents the FBI from annexing the investigation until the whole conspiracy is rounded up.
Nobody trusts the FBI not to be both political and incompetent.

DPD Chief Brown did not say he thought the shooter acted alone. Chief Brown was only relaying the statements from the shooter.
