Trump is now the republican nominee. I appeal to all Cruz and Rubio supporters to vote Trump in order to stop the clinton crime machine from returning to power. Free Republic got its start and thrived as a major anti-clinton force. You held your nose and voted McCain and Romney and they were more liberal and more establishment than Trump/Pence. This may be our last gasp. Either clinton or Trump will be selecting several USSC justices. Your staying home or making a protest vote only helps clinton and the left. Please join us and stop clinton!
Well said. Many were concerned that Trump wasn't conservative enough. Now, the party platform is one of the most conservative platforms we've ever had. This could have not happened without Trump. I hope they come to understand this so that we all can defeat Crooked Hillary and get this country back on a Constitutional track.

You know, I've been thinking about posting similar thoughts lately. It's almost as though FR has come full circle, and is back it's original inspiration. I feel as though a certain period of history is culminating, if I can be a little portentous. This is it--if there's any hope for preserving the USA that we love on this site in any recognizable form, it's this election. I think even if we win, we're talking about a REFOUNDING of the country, not a mere restoration. The moral character of the American people has changed too much for us to live under the current constitution. I don't know what form the new order will take, but we'll never see the USA that we know again if Hillary gets elected.
I've been an infrequent lurker and poster in recent years. I really felt burned by the Palin and Perry stuff in 2011-12. I ignored FR during the primary season this year.
It's weird--with Trump vs Hillary, it's almost like going back to 1997-98, when I first started lurking here, only now with the benefit of hindsight (My Goodness, the hours spent FR in those early years that I'll have to account for on judgement day--I hope they weren't mere idleness!). In any case, it's official. We HAVE to stop Hillary. Let's go take down a Clinton, shall we? For old times' sake? Who's with me?!
