If the campaign is going to spin what was clearly a joke, they could at least get the spin right — that the NRA and its supporters will pressure the Senate not to confirm the picks. Trump was plainly talking about what could be done after her election, not before. So saying he was just urging “Second Amendment people” to vote in record numbers against her really doesn’t make any sense.
