My prediction (for what it's worth): The Fed's will inflate their way out of trouble. They will simply print money to pay the bills.
Winners: People who hold precious metals or blue-chip stocks.
Losers: Everyone else, but especially the savers.
They are doing that now. They can’t lower interest rates any lower unless we go to negative rates. The Fed is really out of options. Inflation would be dangerous in that they may not be able to control it. If it gets out of hand the only option is to raise rates which is lethal with the Debt we have.
There are no real viable options here except the tough ones no one wants to deal with.
