Was the ignoring of the signal intentional or not? That’s the real question here, not if he was inattentive due to fasting. This happened at 6:30pm, just a little after rush hour, and while his train was empty, I’m sure there were many full trains running on those tracks.

Just ask the NTSB about blood sugar levels in fatal accident investigations. Low blood sugar is a major factor. Fasting and public transportation just do not go together. Just like legal or illegal drug use. People who have been fasting all day should not be driving and will start being a factor in injury law suits
