Exclusive — Rick Scott: Ohio Poll Shows Tie, but Trump's 20-Point Lead over Clinton with Indies
Breitbart ^ | 26 Aug 2016 | Matthew Boyle

Posted on 08/26/2016 10:47:53 AM PDT by Red Steel

“Donald Trump is tied with Hillary Clinton in Ohio, and that was before we found out that she put the secretary of state’s office up for sale like the Lincoln Bedroom was when Bill Clinton was president,” Scott said in an emailed statement. “This poll shows that independent voters are looking for an outsider like Donald Trump who is working for them – not special interests. Our ads are working to pull the cover back on Hillary’s legacy of corruption, and that means more and more voters will support Donald Trump.” ...

Scott is the head of the Rebuilding America Now PAC, which—in conjunction with pollsters from On Message, Inc.—conducted a battleground survey in the state of Ohio. The survey of 600 likely voters from August 13 to August 17, with a margin of error of 4 percent, shows Trump tied with Clinton at 45 percent apiece ...

But more importantly, pollster Wes Anderson of On Message told Breitbart News in a brief phone interview on Thursday that Trump is surging with independents far ahead of Hillary Clinton. In fact, the data shows that Trump is winning 53 percent of independents, while Clinton is just getting 33 percent of independents—with 15 percent undecided. That is a 20-point advantage for Trump.

D losses=114,000
I increase 40,000 or so
R increase 29,000

So if EVERY D loss in Cuyahoga Co was an “independent” gain, they would be down (D loss/R gain) 97,000 and if ALL D losses were real, they could be down 142,000!

I hope Trump comes "downtown" for a rally, relatively early. There's this respect thing going on where Trump worked so well with the city of Cleveland and the police department, while Kasich shunned his duties as host Governor for the RNC. Besides that, Obama and hillary can't offer one thing they've done to help the city.

What's my point? Trump might get enough votes around here to more than make up for anything lost because of Kasich's treachery.

I heard this from his own campaign.

I agree. While dangerous, if Trump can pull off some inner city speeches to heavily black audiences—even if unreceptive —it will have an impact.i go back to what Aaron Shock, the (disgraced) former IL congressman said : “I got reelected in a district 56% Democrat and 40% black. I went to every black church and every union hall and said, “You might not agree with my positions, but as your representative I will talk with you and meet with you and I WANT YOUR VOTE.” He said they told him “You are the first Republican to ever come here and ask for our vote.”

Trump needs to be that guy nationally.

Every single one of her public showings is an embarrassment with minimal, lackluster crowds, and paid bussed in participants.

I hope someone from the campaign is reading this. If he did a rally in one of the east side Cleveland public high schools, (which Obama NEVER did!) the behavior would be beyond belief exemplary. I've been in a few of them when there was a need to make an impression, and they really know how to make an impression....and that includes security and behavior. If anyone from the campaign is reading this, I could even suggest the one or two schools that would "wow" the black community for his being there.

Clueless hillary went to the newest school, furthest west in the city. That's not the way to reach good folks in challenged neighborhoods.

Cleveland is the very best place to start this kind of black outreach, I believe.

One of the main reasons is the black population in Cleveland is not quite as radical as in other parts of the country. The BLM movement is not as visual, for example. There are not the professional black agitators, such as Farrakhan, Rev. Wright (Wrong), Jesse Jackson, etc. There are other reasons the population will be more open to a DJT msg:

* Cleveland is home to a large school voucher program and the waiting list is long.

* Cleveland Clinic is the largest private employer in Ohio. https://development.ohio.gov/files/research/B2001.pdf Most people do not realize that their world headquarters is in the “hood” for lack of a better term; the Fairfax neighborhood. Add to that University Hospital, also contained in the inner ring. It is not uncommon for multi-family members, intergenerational, to be employed at these institutions. They are grateful that these rich SOBs are located in their community. Even the very worst job at these places are better than 99.9% of other jobs available in the immediate area. That is one of the reasons why the $15 min wage bill is having trouble in Cleveland.

Speaking of that bill, this is more proof of what I’ve been saying: http://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Q-A-A-look-at-Cleveland-s-15-an-hour-minimum-9141819.php Democrats in general, and black democrats in particular, are not as far left as in some other cities.

Cleveland is the perfect place to try out some of his in-person outreach. And where it is likely to hit the most pay dirt.

It’s also worth mentioning that Mayor Frank Jackson was a better host for the RNC convention than the feckless, petty Kasich.

So how do we get the Trump campaign to hear our message? I would say go "downtown" for a rally and before it go into an east side public high school and give a talk. I've experienced how safe and disciplined several of them are when in a situation where putting their best foot forward is expected.

The Trump campaign worked so well with the police chief and Cleveland for the convention, it's time to build on that. At this point, most folks I know are so fed up with Kasich not fulfilling his duties as host governor that this will bring votes to Trump. Besides that, folks around here are pretty smart in a lot of ways. Assuring a Trump victory in OH will serve the city well in the future.
