NATO puts 300,000 troops on 'high alert' in readiness for a confrontation with Russia

Nato chiefs, thrown into a panic by fears that Russian President Vladimir Putin might attack the West, are scrambling to put together a force of 300,000 troops which they can put on 'high alert'.

Relations between Russia and the West have plunged in the last year, with Moscow's insistence on backing its Syrian ally, President Bashar al-Assad, at all costs leading to serious tension with the US, Britain and France.

Most Nato members cut their defence spending dramatically since the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991 but Russia has been bolstering its military capabilities, holding parades involving more than 100,000 troops each year.

D**%n Ruskies. NATO has been waiting, waiting, waiting for Putin to send the Red army tanks into a Baltic country (any Baltic? Poland maybe? pretty please?) but Putin doesn’t do it. And after NATO has gone to all this trouble and expense.

The thing is Russia and Syria have been tight since at least 1940. They have a naval base there and an airbase too. Millions in businesses.

So this is really about going after Russia in proxy.

I don’t even care about the Russians now that they aren’t commies anymore. In fact they are putting up statues to Christian saints now with big crosses. So why would I want a war with them? No need to fight Christians ever again!!

I fear now that our govt is becoming the commies. That worries me.
