Why the white working class votes against itself
Washington Post ^ | December 22, 2016 | Catherine Rampell

Why did all those Economically Anxious™ Trump voters reject policies that would have helped relieve their economic anxiety? Maybe they believed any Big Government expansions would disproportionately go to the “wrong” kinds of people — that is, people unlike themselves. Hillary Clinton’s unexpected loss, particularly in traditionally blue strongholds, has led to lots of rumination about what the Democrats must do to reclaim their political territory. Smarter marketing, smoother organization, greater outreach and fresher faces are among the most commonly cited remedies.

Ever notice that the white vote is now in the news discussed in an angry, bitter tone? Why would whites vote for policies that would hasten their demise?

Every presidential election up until now has always focused on getting out the black vote, the Hispanic vote, Republicans need to reach out to this group, etc. But who is footing the bill for all these redistribution policies?

I hope Trump completely dismantles the entire welfare and subsidy state. Nobody except active duty and retired military veterans, as well as existing seniors on Social Security and Medicare, should be getting federal government benefits.

Catherine, go get a real job and find out what makes the world function. And it is not the parasite government.

The WaPo also can’t figure out why people would go to a gym instead of relaxing on the sofa at home.

She should go ask the citizens of Venezuela. They fell for the lie that socialism would improve their lives.

Losing liberals NEVER believe the people don’t like their policies. To them, it is always the messaging... we need to communicate better, we didn’t convince people that they are better off with us... in other words, we didn’t lie effectively enough.

Why do smug schmucks like this believe they are smarter than we are? This is Soviet style propaganda nothing more. “Line up for your free chains comrades and be thankful to the state for their sturdiness!”

We’re hopelessly divided. At least our beliefs and actions are based on bedrock principles rooted in the deep soil of freedom and democratic principles, not the shifting sands of media popularity.

They do seem intent on avoiding the blatant reality of the situation; not enough Americans want socialism, political correctness and globalism.

Marxists always come out when the Rats lose an election:

(1) they were tricked into voting against their own self-interests (financial)
(2) they were lured into voting against Democrats because of superstitious (religious) fear and homophobia
(3) they were tricked out of their votes by difficult ballot design (approved by Democrats)

I don’t want to pat myself on the back retroactively, but I kinda, sorta thought at the time of the “deplorables” speech:

“Hitlery just lost the election right there.”

Of course, there were quite a few gut-wrenching moments to follow, such as the media mounting a human wave attack over Trump’s “locker room” comments.

Still, I am racking my brain for any previous instance where a candidate attacked so many ordinary Americans in such vile terms.

Give Hitlery credit for taking campaign rhetoric in a new direction — and, given the RATS inability to learn anything, one we will probably hear a lot more in coming elections.

Oh, like the trade agreements that sent over 70,000 factories fleeing the US to other countries.

Reminds me of a line from Anchor Man, "even the guy who can't think said something". This leftist turd blossom had to write something.

Journalistically AnxiousTM, she sits in front of her word processor. The diva ditz draws on her intellect to recall the discussion at last nights dinner party and begins to type.

"I'm going to win a Pulitzer for this!" she dreams as she pokes the concluding period with her ringless ring finger. Sad fact Pulitzer judges will give this piece consideration even recognizing maybe she did not go far enough in belittling the American Citizen who still believes is Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness otherwise known as Trump supporters.

Time will tell.

Maybe if the Democrat Party went EVEN FURTHER LEFT they could capture the middle...but probably not. Ten years ago even Obama had to be for traditional marriage, rare abortion, and gender based bathrooms. They went full retard out on the left-most branch of the tree and now they are wondering why they can’t get the votes in the middle. This ain’t rocket science, bolsheviks...
