Tillerson is a seasoned business executive who understood that the gays and liberals who have successfully used conservative laws against us over the last 50 years, would ultimately financially destroy the Boy Scouts with endless litigation and using good business judgment decided that the Boy Scouts should not be financially destroyed. As a former Executive Director of 4 large and important law firms, I know exactly what the Boy Scouts were facing and I agree with Tillerson's decision.

For you disbelievers about this man, there was a thread on FR in the last 2 weeks from a woman who sat on a jury with Tillerson (who btw was elected Jury Foreman) who resisted a potential hung jury in a child abuse case and managed to convict the bastard who abused a young girl. The woman who authored the thread chose to follow the young girl who was in therapy. The author found out that the non-profit providing therapy for the young girl needed more funding. The author found Tillerson's email and asked him to help the charity. Within a few days, the head of the charity contacted the author to let her know that the charity had received a huge anonymous donation! Think on that for a few moments before writing off Tillerson before he even starts!

You seem to be saying, they should have sold out, and they did indeed. I do not agree they had to, but that is just my own opinion. I was very proud to have been a boy scout, right up until that day. Then suddenly, I wasn’t nearly as proud as I had been.

Right. Accommodating the LGBT power may have been the only way to save the Scouts in the short run because of litigation. Probably all kinds of different state court decisions, injunctions, money judgments. Endless. It would have been over-whelming.

But it may be that the decision to allow gay troop masters dooms the Scouts just as certainly. They may have bought themselves a bit more time. But they did so at the cost of their moral integrity.

Such a poor trade is exactly the kind of mistake I would hope our Secretary of State would NOT make.
