President Trump exhibits classic signs of mental illness, including 'malignant narcissism'
NY Daily News ^ | Jan. 29, 2017 | Gersh Kuntzman

The time has come to say it: there is something psychologically wrong with the President.

The fuzzy outlines of President Trump's likely mental illness came into sharper focus this week: in two interviews with major networks, he revealed paranoia and delusion; he quadruple-downed on his fabrication that millions of people voted illegally, which demonstrated he is disconnected from reality itself; his petulant trade war with Mexico reveals that he values self-image even over national interest; his fixation with inaugural crowd size reveals a childish need for attention.

Partisans have been warning about Trump's craziness for months, but rhetoric from political opponents is easily dismissed; it's the water of the very swamp the President says he wants to drain.

But frightened by the President's hubris, narcissism, defensiveness, belief in untrue things, conspiratorial reflexiveness and attacks on opponents, mental health professionals are finally speaking out. The goal is not merely to define the Madness of King Donald, but to warn the public where it will inevitably lead.

Ex-Trump executive: I knew he was ill for last 35 years "Narcissism impairs his ability to see reality," said Dr. Julie Futrell, a clinical psychologist, who, of course, added a standard disclaimer because she has never actually treated Trump. "So you can't use logic to persuade someone like that. Three million women marching? Doesn't move him. Advisers point out that a policy choice didn't work? He won't care. The maintenance of self-identity is the organizing principle of life for those who fall toward the pathological end of the narcissistic spectrum."

A little background: Shrinks don't typically analyze public figures. The reticence dates back to 1964, during Barry Goldwater's run for President. Then, like now, many shrinks believed that the candidate was psychologically damaged — but unlike now, many diagnosed him for a Fact magazine special...

For the same reason, some equate genius to madness. If your mind can go where most others can’t... then people may call it madness. It’s worse when we’ve “defined deviancy down.”

The source of this stuff is PSYCHOPATHS AND LOVE “ authored by Adelyn Birch. The source name alone sends up red flags. Names TRUMP specifically. This is scary far left screed posing as scientifically accurate information.

Our friend Gersh is back, with fresh diapers just waiting to be soiled at the latest conservative “outrage.”

It’s okay, Gershie-snookums. Finish your warm milk and mommy will tuck you into beddy-bye. We can play “Psychiatrist” tomorrow when you get up.

There's a whole lot of crazy going around in the modern urban ivory towers nowadays.

It's about time we knocked a few of their towers down and brought them back to the reality of the cesspool they have helped to create.

Today on the news I say pampered celebrity after pampered celebrity talk about letting in more barbarians. I thought to myself that perhaps if they didn't have all those walls separating themselves from the people whom they pretend to champion, then maybe they wouldn't be so interested in letting barbarians into their communities.

We should make them live as they preach.

The reality is that the Left really fears an efficient, professional investigation into illegal voting patterns, and the paranoia is theirs. If they really thought that Trump was irrational, they would welcome the investigation, hoping to make him look bad.

The compulsion driven behavior, both on the question of investigating voting fraud and stopping the reckless acceptance of "refugees," says a lot that they do not want want said about their own "mental health."

God Bless Donald Trump for having the courage to stand up the modern equivalent of the Courtiers in Andersen's The Emperors' New Clothes.

“Lib alternative universe.
Man who thinks he is a woman, normal.
Man who loves America, mentally ill.”

Another Lib alternate universe:
Labor Union workers- placing Union workers ahead of other American workers, good.
Nationalism- placing ALL American workers ahead of foreign or illegal workers, bad.

These progressive morons love to fantasize. They honestly believe that if they can think it up, it somehow magically exists as fact.

Liberals are not only insane, they're stupid. And because of their inflexible stupidity, we can run circles around them if we just apply ourselves and don't waste any more time arguing with them.

The time for attempting any intelligent dialogue with liberals is over. Now we must simply push them aside and ignore them. If they start a fight, end it for them.

Remember during the 2016 when various people came forward to tell about significant help Donald Trump had given them when they were in need, yet the stories had never been publicized, or were not well known? A true narcissist would be too much of a glory hound not to boast about and publicize his/her good deeds.

My take on Trump is that he is a very driven workaholic, he wants to win in all that he does, he doesn’t shrink from a fight, he has a saleman’s braggadocio, he is often vulgar and crude, but he has a sense of humor and many good qualities too.

Let’s see; obama refers to himself 200 times in one 10 minute speech and Trump does it 2 times yet Trump is the narcissist. Alrighty then and how are those pink unicorns handling on the way to the rainbow?

I have colleagues who worshipped the Obamas and never had a single doubt about their abilities or success. However, those same people, professionals who are also liberal and avowed anti-gun, are using articles like this to “prove” to their peers why a military coup is not only needed, but demanded.

The silver lining is these folks are now realizing the importance of the 2nd Amendment. ;)

I am a licensed clinical psychologist.

I would guess that most of the politicians in Washington are malignant narcissists, but since I have never treated them, I can’t really say.

‘A true narcissist would be too much of a glory hound not to boast about and publicize his/her good deeds.’

A malignant narcissist doesn’t do these types of good deeds period. Have you noticed that in two national campaigns, Obama never had anyone from his past speak about something nice Obama had done for them? There was not a single soul to relate even a minor act of kindness Obama had done.

MNs just do not put themselves out for others. First, they feel no empathy, and are therefore oblivious to the suffering of others. Second, they believe the world should revolve around them. How can that happen if they are drawing attention to another person’s plight? The truth is, they won’t share the spotlight with *anyone*.

I get the sense from leftists that all this is ‘payback’ for our sins of birtherism and their belief that Republicans blocked ‘everything’ Nobama tried to do. Reverse hissy fit, in their minds. I’d say they will likely run out of steam, and eventually distract themselves with squirrels. But for now it’s a daily dose of outrage. Whaah, Muh Obama.
