Now is not the time to harden their, or our, hearts in opposition. They will come around, and we ought to encourage that. Many of us were initially skeptical of Trump, what conservative wasn’t? I still don’t agree with everything he says or does, but I didn’t agree with everything Reagan said or did either.

The bottom line is, I voted for him reluctantly as the lesser evil of the two available options, but he has won me over through his actions. Why was I so slow to come on board? A small but vocal, and often obnoxious segment of his supporters bear a great deal of the responsibility for pushing me, and many others, away.

Remember Reagan’s words: “The person who agrees with you 80 percent of the time is a friend and an ally – not a 20 percent traitor.” Live that, and bring those people around, don’t ostracize them. That is how we build the coalition necessary to retain power now that we’ve won it.

You signed up last November 2016. Trump spent his own money on a campaign that he worked tirelessly across this nation... That is a hallmark of a 'conservative'... How strange it was to hear a man speak past the PC bull of both parties. The above toadies believed the internet prank pulled on Wilson, and they all waited with baited breath for the 'dirty dossier' to get revealed...

The Bush name is forever tainted because they were exposed as being 'compassionate' conservatives for the left. All of the above have done nothing to break through the lawlessness of the Clintons and Obama... NONE of them took a stand in protecting and defending our Constitution.

I resent your needing to rag out what you view 'obnoxious segment of his supporters'. We do not need any shrinking violets, in the 'war' against the insane, lunatic, half baked left. The above are the laziest people on God's green earth and well past their expiration of value date.

I will NOT be forgiving these turds, NOT a one of them. Most especially those that claimed in front of God and all watching, they would support the nominee, and then made complete donkey buns out of themselves. This bunch did all they could to make the wicked witch of the west our 'queen'. In this election there was NO lesser of evil.

You said a ‘small’ but vocal, obnoxious group, etc.

If you thought it ‘small’, why did you not see the real details, to see the growing movement into millions and tens of millions, the massive rallies?

Why did you not see supporters gather from every walk of life, from every religious persuasion, from every ethic background, from every economic stratum of society?

Why did you not set time aside to research the real Donald J. Trump as did I, to discover how patriotic and sincere he truly is?

I could go on and on, and it’s not just you. And it’s still ongoing.

One problem is, and you should take note, is that certain persons allow themselves to be DISTRACTED.

The Left knows well how to DISTRACT.

The Left knows how to broadcast and brand through relentless repeating cycles OBJECTS OF DISTRACTION.

The Left preys on people that are DISTRACTABLE.

The Left will stage or cover a ‘small’ group of obnoxious persons to brand them as representative of a wider group.

The Left will find a hair in a soup and sometimes put it there to declare a boiling kettle as unfit for consumption.

There is much to learn.

You are ‘almost’ a DISTRACTABLE! But you had the good sense to finally see what so many others saw more than a year ago. Welcome to the family! But in the future try to counsel those you find are easily DISTRACTED because now you know.

I saw the real Donald Trump as a candidate in early August 2015 after setting aside time to do research on him. And I expected to find all manner of no-good dirt on him because I had allowed myself to be DISTRACTED. And then, astonishment gripped me as I found that he was every bit as strong and passionate about America as any of the nation’s founding fathers. It’s true. And from that point on, no amount of ‘small’ distraction would move me away from what I had found independently, confirmed with solid, hard, literally concrete facts.

When you opposed Trump, you were not an 80 percenter.

You were 100% against him. You were 100% against his policies, the very policies he is implementing now.

And you think folks who opposed you in that stand stridently, were the problem. Good freakin grief.

You changed at the last moment. Great. You were not a public figure who refused to champion Trump in front of millions, so you get a pass.

The person that did, doesn’t.

As someone who supported Trump from the day he announced back in 2015, and as someone who was a very strong supporter of Trump here on FR (and got in many arguments against those who didn’t support Trump), I agree with you, a self-admitted late-comer.

We must come together and support our President. The rest is water under the bridge.

In that spirit, I have welcomed all of Cruz’ good behavior in recent weeks.

A guy who shoves a knife 20% of the way into your back is 100% a traitor.
