Federal immigration officers launched a blitz of raids across six states on Thursday and Friday, seizing an unknown number of illegal aliens, according to multiple reports.
Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Gillian Christensen confirmed agents have raided homes and workplaces in and around Atlanta, Los Angeles and other cities, according to the Washington Post.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency said claims, as the Post also reported Friday, that people have been targeted at checkpoints and community sweeps are "false, dangerous and irresponsible."
"These reports create mass panic and put communities and law enforcement personnel in unnecessary danger. Any groups falsely reporting such activities are doing a disservice to those they claim to support," ICE said in a statement to the Washington Examiner.

The fact that there have been all of these “raids” so shortly after Trump was sworn in means ICE employees WANTED TO ACT. They support this. They want to enforce the laws.

Realize that you are asking this question about a government
that is so incompetent, they cannot stop phone calls
to people on the “do not call” list”.
I disagree. Targeting the known bad elements at first is smart. They appear to be chopping off the head of criminal snake and going after employers using cheap undocumented labor. This will reduce crime and aid in self deportations. It is a wise use of available resources. It is not feasible to round up 30 million illegals at once, is he goal needs to accomplished in logical and practical manner.

Deporting illegal aliens and protecting the citizens is what they signed on to do.
I talked to an ICE agent here in Virginia and they have been prevented from doing their jobs by the past TWO administrations.

Or just go in front of every 7-eleven or Home Depot and do a sweep of day laborers accosting customers.
This trickle will become a stream, which will grow into a flood.
When local law enforcement ae brought on board, and the logistics and processes are in place to move them, lots of immigrants can be deported (many will go on their own).
Eisenhower got rid of well over a million in three months, during Operation Wetback in 1954. Basically, local police rounded them up with ID checks, INS used expedited processing, and the military helped with transportation and some guard duty.

Of course it is not a sweep. They don’t plan on stopping. A sweep is more of a one time thing.
It’s more like the tide. The tide comes in and sweeps out the dead wood on the way out. The tide will be back tomorrow, and the next day ... etc. Aliens are being swept. More will be swept away. I am encouraged.
I agree 100%. Patriotic American offices want to do their job. They have a strong desire to do the right thing and to protect our communities. Once Sessions got sworn in, the officers sighed with relief and then felt a huge desire to do their job. I am very, very thankful for Sessions and brave officers.
Remember when Obama claimed he deported more people than anybody and there were no lefty protests? Good times.

I think this would be most effective. When inexpensive labor becomes insufferable with fines the jobs magnet will disappear.
I want it to look like the Grapes Of Wrath heading towards the border.
