The father of a Navy Seal killed in a raid in Yemen last month has demanded an investigation into the planning and timing of what he called a “stupid mission”.
Bill Owens also told the Miami Herald he refused to meet Donald Trump when he and the president went to Dover air force base in Delaware to receive the casket carrying his son, William “Ryan” Owens.
“My conscience wouldn’t let me talk to him,” he said.
The younger Owens was the only US fatality in the 29 January raid on a suspected al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula compound. Three US personnel were injured and the Pentagon said 14 militants were killed. One US aircraft was destroyed after being damaged on landing.

I agree with you and with the father, too. Trump was elected by people like you and me who want this country to get the hell out of the never-ending battles and wars that have bled our country white economically and have made this country into a soviet-style police state. Trump himself just bitched the other day at CPAC that we’ve blown over 6 trillion dollars in the Middle East since 2001; squandered money that could have been spent rebuilding our own damn country. And that doesn’t include the human toll of the lives and limbs lost of the servicemen who should be defending our borders, not dying in foreign lands for ungrateful Moslems. And I say all this as a Viet Nam veteran. So there.

There were congressional hearings about Dresden and the inexplicable bloodbath in Tarawa after WWII. We used to have a Congress who cared about our soldiers and right & wrong.

The father is not being totally honest here. He attended the service with his new wife and they did not attend Trump’s interaction, while the real family did welcome Trump.
Also, he is a Hillary supporter and repeated a lot of leftist slogans. He’s using his dead son as a political pawn but the real family did not join him in that dishonor. Democrats always rally at funerals.
