Marine Le Pen, the nationalist leader who is competing to be the next president of France, was featured tonight on 60 Minutes in an interview. Her choice quotes:
On Trump and Brexit: "They also said that Brexit wasn't going to happen, that Donald Trump wasn't going to be elected, wasn't even going to be his party's nominee. Well, they're saying that less and less now."
On Russia: Le Pen said it's a "big scam" to claim Russia is a threat to Europe, rejecting Cooper's question about Vladimir Putin as a threat to the region.
On whether global elites went too far: "Globalization has become an ideology with no constraints. Now nations are forcing themselves back into the debate. Nations with borders that we control with real economies, not Wall Street economies, but rather factories and farmers. This goes against unregulated globalization, a wild, savage globalization. Wild globalization has benefited some, but it's been a catastrophe for most."
On how immigrants change France: Le Pen said it's "undeniable" that some neighborhoods in France no longer allow you to live a French life. But Le Pen said that foreigners in France who "hold a job, who respect our laws, our codes, have absolutely nothing to worry about."
Headscarves: Le Pen said she's "opposed to wearing headscarves in public places." As she put it: France isn't Burkinis on the beach. France is Brigitte Bardot. That's France. A big challenge: Getting past the legacy of her father, Jean-Marie Le Pen, who founded the party she now leads.

The globalists, in their political, academic and media arrogance - sitting in their own intellectual bubble and believing only in their own perfection of the “proper” course for humanity - forgot the humans, the individual, the human being they pretended to lead.
The human being, the human individual has an identity and IT IS ROOTED in place, in family, in religion, in culture, and has no identity when all of them are displaced by mere political ideology, or worse materialist globalism.
In western civilization, wars of “nationalism” have been bled out of the people. They know now they can have love of nation, and identify as patriots of that nation, while 100% respecting the same for other nations, and respecting peaceful economic intercourse without needing military conflict to resolve disputes - because recognizing each others Liberty to rule themselves leaves less to dispute.
The gloabalists were lying that they had destroy nationalism in Europe. Dictators and empires bent on conquest and hegemony over others, not natural unimperialistic nationalism led to the world wars.
But the socialists, and their fellow traveling crony capitalists, THEY needed to destroy nationalism, so THEY could rule over nations with their “international” controls.
It all had nothing to with peace, merely control.

Absolutely not, she’s not Hitler. Today’s nationalists like her and Trump are not about attacking and conquering their neighbors but defending their countries from invaders, and protecting their culture. It’s a defensive nationalism not offensive.
The alternative to LePen is a socialist globalist - I’ll take LePen any day over him.

Whatever. France is screwed. Both of the leading candidates — Macron and Le Pen — are socialists. Whoever wins, France loses.
I like the fact she’s using the phrase ‘savage globalism’. She can see what Trump is up against even after he won the election - the savage media pushing stories that are 88 percent negative, the savage bullying that 61 million Americans who voted for Trump are experiencing in the workplace, among friends and colleagues, it’s hurtful to read of the plots of the left against the average person. I keep praying that the Lord binds the hands of the evil ones.
She is a net benefit to her country and should be its leader.
