Remember the rolling blackouts, the shortages of common supplies, like toilet paper, the eating of zoo animals (and domestic animals) because people were starving, the looting, and the spikes in crime? Yeah, that’s all coming from the socialist utopia of Venezuela. The medical system has also totally collapsed, with hospitals not having basic items like gloves or soap. One doctor described the situation as “something out of the 19th century.” Then, there’s the footage of Venezuelans eating out of garbage cans because of the food shortage. On average, people have lost 19 pounds due to food shortages. It’s a total disaster. Now, the military has been caught eating from the garbage

In Venezuela, it’s now common to see people rummaging through the garbage to look for food. However, a new video reveals just how extreme the crisis is, as low-ranking soldiers were also caught on camera looking through trash bags for food.

The government there will now control garbage cans so all citizens can access to them.

And since when is there enough food to throw out for people to forage for it? Next up grass soup and the government will put in grass control so all citizens will have the same benefit of eating grass.

The amazing part of this to me is that this government hasn’t been overthrown yet. Normally when the economic hardship hits the soldiers, they kill the dictator and replace him with a new one. Hopefully one smart enough to switch back to Capitalism. There is a lesson in this. Socialism’s primary tool in maintaining power is destroying the opposition. That way, even if the country has gone to Hell, no one can effectively challenge the dictator.

1. Reinstitute the draft;

2. Draft all these socialist snowflakes that want FREE STUFF into that left wing organization The Peace Corps;

3. Pack them off to Venezuela and then burn their records so we "forget" where they were sent.

Another Atlas ping.

Part 2, Chapter 5, "Account Overdrawn"

Dr. Simon Pritchett witnesses a woman holding a son who has starved to death, and attempts to console a volunteer worker by telling her:

Reality is only an illusion. How does that woman know that her son is dead? How does she know that he ever existed?

Remember the Socialist leader motto!

“From each according to what he has and to me according to what I want.”

There is no Bolivar. The chavistas stole his memory, and put their own commie stamp on it.

Unless there is someone to rise to the occasion, the occasion will not come.

Where are the Venezuelan women? Certainly not getting any support from American “feminists”.

I want to go on vacation to Venezuala and bring lots of Snickers bars. Then I will travel slowly through Caracas, eating the Snickers bars and laughing at how skinny people look.

Prepper ping !

When even the fomerly privileged (military) underlings have to forage for food,.. the government is in a desperate state.
In Fascisim, the State is never at 'fault', blame must be passed onto 'some other' greedy entity.
I am reminded of the statement: " I am here from the government,.. and I'm here to help ! "

Law and crime
Main articles: Law of Venezuela and Crime in Venezuela

Venezuela was the most murderous place on Earth in 2015. In Venezuela, a person is murdered every 21 minutes. Violent crimes have been so prevalent in Venezuela that the government no longer produces the crime data. In 2013, the homicide rate was approximately 79 per 100,000, one of the world’s highest, having quadrupled in the past 15 years with over 200,000 people murdered. By 2015 it had risen to 90 per 100,000. The country’s body count of the previous decade mimics that of the Iraq War and in some instances had more civilian deaths even though the country is at peacetime.The capital Caracas has one of the greatest homicide rates of any large city in the world, with 122 homicides per 100,000 residents. In 2008, polls indicated that crime was the number one concern of voters. Attempts at fighting crime such as Operation Liberation of the People have been done to crack down on gang-controlled areas but of reported criminal acts, less than 2% are prosecuted.

Venezuela is especially dangerous toward foreign travelers and investors who are visiting. The United States State Department and the Government of Canada have warned foreign visitors that they may be subjected to robbery, kidnapping for a ransom or sale to terrorist organizations and murder, and that their own diplomatic travelers are required to travel in armored vehicles. The United Kingdom’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office has advised against all travel to Venezuela. Visitors have been murdered during robberies and criminals do not discriminate among their victims. Former Miss Venezuela 2004 winner Monica Spear and her husband were murdered with her 5-year-old daughter being shot while visiting, and an elderly German tourist was murdered only a few weeks later.
